This trailer made 0 sense lore wise. Plus there are no female witchers at all, not to mention that you are right and Ciri never underwent the Trial of Grass so it's kinda baffling she can chug a potion and be fine + cat eyes really?

Swear to God I'm finishing the PS5 version of Witcher 3 since I already beat the original PS4 version 10 times and got thinking to myself how gorgeous the game is even being almost 10 years old and how amazing a new game would look, then this drops, STOKED Love Ciri new look, more mature and wiser also loved that call back to Witcher 1 with the chain, burning day one.

It seemed Ciri was the most likely candidate for TW4, I mean they kind of telegraphed it by making her an actual playable character. I’m sure it will be great but would love it if this teaser was actually a swerve and in truth Ciri is the mentor to your character, better yet to the players created Witcher.

But is that really ciri? I didnt read a lot of reveals so CDPR could have already said things abt this but why would Ciri ever wear lynx/cat medal. After Vesemirs death she kept his medal and basically used it as her own. So thats why it feels wierd to me for her to switch it.

Not sure how I feel about this. Ciri using signs and drinking Witcher potions is weird. she never underwent the mutations it kinda doesn’t make sense. I was hoping for something less traditional witcher and more about her mastering her own powers of teleportation and travel to other worlds while fighting monsters. Instead she just looks like a gender swapped Geralt. And anytime a game company uses the phrase “modern audiences” when describing their project it’s a gigantic red flag. If Witcher 3 wasn’t one of the best games ever made I wouldn’t even consider this game. For now I’m reserving judgement but this is a let down so far.

it's not because of a female protagonist, just this whole trailer canon wise makes little to no sense if you consider the lore and endings of Witcher 3. They had a chance to start fresh and do something cool with the frenchise, instead we continue with Ciri whos story pretty much ended and on top of that she is no witcher as she cant be due to the fact she never went through the trial of grass. I'm sure they are going to try and play this off through some explanations but it's kind of a spit in the face given the lore of Witcher 3.

Fascinating, barely 10hr in and there's a few delusional bad takes of "REEE Female Protagonist = BAD" at this point pay no attention to feed these un-constructive trolls. That are just for the sake of drama, as the Witcher Fanbase we all know this is expected from CDPR having Ciri being the new main protagonist in Witcher 4. As Geralt of Rivia's story has been concluded in Blood & Wine, it's a natural story progression not DEI Infested in regards of Main Protagonist selection. An actual DEI infestation would see that Ciri, would be said condescending girl boss instead from this trailer of limited info, we didn't get any of it whatsoever let alone perfectly slain said Monster Flawlessly rather genuinely struggle against it. That's DEI Trope 101, of perfectionist girl bosses and so *FAR* none has been revealed yet. Reserve your expectations until we see a Gameplay trailer from CDPR, is that simple.
