the biggest weakness of quest rogue was the lack of good healing to stabilize against aggro decks. now they have a 2 mana card that removes and gets 5 health at minimum, usually 10 health from a followup trade if not removed by a spell. so yeah, pretty fucking good card to get oh yeah, and dirty rat also rotated out to prevent even more potential counterplay

Chris P. Ferryman rotated aswell tho, its harder to complete now. It did recieve a good tool for sure, but its not groundbreaking unlike what hadronox druid or kathrena hunter got.

Its pretty easy to complete the quest with Sonya and chargers though. So yeah it only needed the healing from Scalehide.

I find this expansion's been rather interesting as it's a new expansion but it's given new life to cards that were the main attraction of a set that came out a year ago, like making quest hunter finally an actually playable deck and not a complete joke, also giving the final pieces to combo quest druid.

Lerbyn the actual meta makes it good (+scalehide is great to catch up on health/board but it's a small +)

Zola and Sonya made the quest much more consistent to pull off in K&C. The problem with the deck was that you had no healing so even after you finished the quest the opponent could often just kill you by continuously hitting you in the face and you couldnt put a bunch of removal/healing in the deck without lowering the consistency of the quest. Scalehide does both in one card, removing minions and healing you, shoring up the main weakness of the deck without taking much deck space. The standard rotation also removed Dirty Rat which was the main counter to Quest Rogue while only losing the Ferryman, which was the worst bounce effect in the deck anyway and often unnecessary cause Sonya and Zola were so good. I dont really think the meta is all that much better. Its still mostly a bunch of aggro/spiteful decks + cubelock with the occasional taunt druid/quest warrior.

you only kill them with 5/5's... as opposed to quest mage where you only kill them with 6 damage fireballs to the face. or otk priest with 10+ damage spells to the face or otk rogue with 10+ damage spells to the face. or shaman/priest where you play a single card that continually does repeated spells. 90% of decks now are some form of face damage with a single win condition are they not?

i haven't played for 2 months. so right now, i'm destroying noobs with competitive deck at rank 20. you came right at the start of a new expansion when people play agin, so low ranks have good player. don't worry they'll disappear. and to answer your question, the best deck for a beginner is an aggro warlock. put tons of low cost minions wih good bodies. throw them all on the board and hero power when your hand starts to get empty. and try to kill the opponent as soon as possible. this is not really good at higher rank because competitive decks can control really efficiently but it destroys everything up until rank 15 (at least it did when i started playing)

its a clollectible card game: either you put your time in it or your money. i'd suggest your time :) first of all, defeat the solo adventure bosses and the innkeeper in expert mode with each class. use your phone to get promo packs or ask your friends to log in to your account from their phone. complete the daily quests. watch videos. try some budget decks. give it time.
