No, it really wasn’t. Trump left Biden with an impossible situation. It was under Trump that 5,000 Taliban prisoners were released, while at the same time drawing down US forces in Afghanistan to only 2,500. Trump left Biden with a time table of 3 months to get US forces out to abide by the agreement that Trump made with the Taliban, while at the same time not leaving him with any plan to actually accomplish that withdrawal. The only way Biden could have prevented this would been to have take longer than the three months. The problem with that is it would have required us redeploying forces into Afghanistan to secure our positions, which would have caused even more US deaths than just the 13. Yes, what happened was terrible, but the major contributing factor was the idiotic agreement that Trump made with the Taliban.
@AngelaBaiersАй бұрын
And Kamala's fault!
@jormungaurdАй бұрын
@@AngelaBaiers Incorrect, it was completely Trump’s fault. It was Trump that negotiated directly with the Taliban, completely cutting out the Afghanistan Government. It was Trump that forced the release of 5,000 Taliban troops that were in prison, which happened to include the suicide bomber. It was Trump that decreased US troop levels to 2,500 before he left office, making it so the only way Biden could have stopped the withdrawal would have been to deploy more troops to Afghanistan or risk even worse US casualties. It was Trump that left office without giving the Biden administration any plan in how to complete the withdrawal. It was Trump that was warned by the Military that they had no idea where all of their property that was loaned to the Afghans were at or any idea how to locate them, and he still went forward with such a short time table for Biden to complete the withdrawal. Remember Trump specifically said that he had set things up in a way that Biden couldn’t prevent the withdrawal. So yes that tragedy may have happened under Biden, but it was a tragedy of Trump’s making.

I read a comment on a KZbin short about him meeting Biden and how awkwardly awful it went. The comment said something along the lines of how events like this are forever sketched in the soldiers and civilians minds who were there during the horrific tragedy. Those of us who were not there grieve and mourn when we hear about it and eventually move on. It stuck with me because of how true that is and I didn't even realize how quick I move on when these tragedies happen. Veterans who go through and witness these unfortunate moments nearly all the time should be taken care of, even after they retire, way better than they are. They deserve so much more than they are given and I don't think anyone can understand their pain if they haven't been through it. I respect the hell out of the men and women who risk their own lives and mental health for the American people. I thank them for all that they do and endure for us.. ❤
