I am not either honestly but I love the music of The Wiz. I saw the 1939 The Wizard of Oz growing up. I mentioned this my black friend. I am white by the way. So anyways I told my black friend I like The Wizard of Oz and he's said I like The Wiz. I asked what was that and he said its The Wizard of Oz done with an all black cast and I was intrigued. I asked my mom about it and she said yes its different version of The Wizard of Oz with all an black cast and their style of music which is soul music I later learned. She said I would probably not like it because its not like 1939 movie. But my school was getting ready to do a school play of The Wiz closely based on the original Broadway play. So I picked a DVD copy of the movie version and it was different from the original but I loved the music. It was very soulful and there was some R&B going on. But that kind of music set to the story of The Wizard of Oz was amazing to me. Then NBC remakes it on Live TV which I loved because its closer to the original play and closer to the original Wizard of Oz.
