How about a story on WHY the Wizarding World is kept secret from Muggles in the first place? Maybe the American Salem Witch Trials was the catalyst? Maybe a story on the Wizarding World becoming public knowledge again Post-Deathly Hollows for the first time SINCE the Salem Witch Trials? Treat it like the exposure of Mutants in the X-Men: Evolution cartoon from the mid-2000s, how would ordinary people react? Also, could a clever muggle beat "pureblood" wizard with his wits and fists?

This is really funny. I remember coming out of the theater after Fantastic Beast and I turned to my friend (who is a huge potter fan) and I asked with utter confusion "Is Dumbledore gay?" they confirmed he is and I was baffled by the films inability to cement it. I even said it felt like it was a movie scared to showcase it because of homophobic markets. Fascinating to see I wasn't the only one with that take away.

What you want kinda already exists with another gigantic franchise: The Case Files of Lord El-Melloi II and The Adventures of Lord El-Melloi II, taking a character from a specified setting and series and making it expands the world with the various magus adventures and cases around the world and expanding the universe. Could work for harry potter, but I sure as hell don't get why it wasn't done before in various media.

Personally I'd love to see Hogwarts' mystery's story being adapted in any other medium but mobile. I was genuinely surprised by the good ideas that this video game brings to the table, like following the sibling of a Death Eater, or Merula Snyde being an actually enjoyable Slytherin with a rough personality but ultimately a kind heart. I was also shocked by the risks they were willing to take to advance the story, like fucking killing one of the characters while they were still a young teen. So yeah I wish we could have an actually good story from this interesting premise. (Also Jae Kim from this story, could be what 4thSnake's looking for to broaden the universe of HP, by broadening the world-wide view of sorcery, since he's from Korea. And I like the idea of a Gryffindor always getting in trouble for being a smuggler, although him having a yellow sweatshirt is weird, at least make it red... Chiara is also an interesting idea for being half-werewolf, so half fantastic beast, and half-human, as well as a Hufflepuff. So it could bring interesting conflict for example making her hypersensitive to other's emotions, while at the same time having the voice of the werewolf trying to take over her body. Seriously this game has great ideas, I didn't lie.)

There is a grand irony that WB likely would have had the functional "cinematic universe (to rival the MCU)" so many fucking studios want without putting in the work or effort if they had used a YA novel with one of the most ill-formed and poorly worldbuilt settings in popular culture instead of rushing the grimdark DCEU. It's hilarious, though given J. K. Rowling's continued (increasingly negative) involvement and control, this is perhaps something WB can't be entirely blamed for (for once), especially when that woman was the one who both okayed the terrible _The Cursed Child_ *and* then wrote the somehow *even worse* second _Fantastic Beasts_ movie. Sigh. You have only good ideas in this video, but at this point I wouldn't want J.K. Rowling herself touching *any* of them, *especially* the foreign culture ones. That was true even before the Nagini retcon. Speaking of retcons, yeah, at this point Dumbledore is about as gay as Hermoine is black, which is to say...he isn't. Not that you have to show him and Grindlewald having graphic sex or anything close to that to confirm his same-sex attraction to at least Grindlewald with more than words, but I firmly believe the cowardice was on both Rowling's and WB's parts, not just one of them. The Marauders Map film: Basically the parts of the Prisoner of Azkaban book that explored the Marauders and their friendship that wasn't included in the Prisoner of Azkaban movie. I'd go see it without hesitation. I also agree that the Fantastic Beasts series shouldn't have put a focus on Grindlewald. It takes away from Newt as the focal character by setting up the Global Wizarding War Grindlewald's going to start.

The biggest and most obvious waste of potential from the HP universe was having all the core cast be from 1 of the 4 houses. 1 exists to be "the bad one" and the remaining 2 are background noise with a combined 3 noteworthy students between them, one of whom dies, and the 4th is the heroes. I don’t remember who came up with it, I think Nando v Movies, but an idea he posited that I really like is that if WB HAD to go the route of making a Fantastic Beasts series, they should’ve have cut the Grindelwald twist out of part 1, had Colin Ferrell’s character be a legitimate character, and have him send Newt on different missions around the world to deal with different types of creatures. If the Fantastic Beasts story can’t stand on its own with the Dumbledore vs Grindelwald drama, then it shouldn’t be a series to begin with.

If for no other reason, your ideas should be somewhat utilised by WB and JK Rowling simply because it will help strengthen the world building of the Harry Potter franchise. The problem with the original series is that the whole world very much centres around Hogwarts and it was very clear that it's scope was only meant to be limited to a wizarding society in Great Britain. Now that there is demand for a more international audience though, especially after Fantastic Beasts, it would be beneficial to expand on the wizarding world in ways that make it seem like Hogwarts and the events of the original seven books were just one part of a big long history. Of course the wasted potential of the world building is another subject all together.

That's true but it's not at all a "problem" of the original series. It was done deliberately since the story follows school kids, so their lives orbit pretty much exclusively around school and vacation. They did mention an "international" aspect since book 1 with the Romanian dragons, and also they explore the world of adults by telling the stories of Voldemort and the wizards who fought them, but keeping them distant is actually a strength for the story they wanted to tell. Actually I'd say the way that the world of adults is written from the kids' perspective is absolutely perfect: you have all those characters like Harry's father and his friends, whose adventures feel like something that might as well happened eons prior while really it was just one generation, only a few years, but the books and movies capture the way it feels as a kid to see pictures of your parents when they were young, or when they tell you about some trip they went on with their best friend, who's somebody they now only see once a year at most. I believe HP captures that exact feeling like no other story I've ever read. ...I guess I went down on a tangent there.

@@KombatGod I mean considering Harry Potter is a children's book, it is great for what it is. It's great escapism with a narrow view of a world much like a child. It plays on black and white morality for the most part with of course a few areas of grey with certain characters such as Snape and Dumbledore. But in the realm of fantasy it's generally quite weak compared to something like Lord of the Rings which has a world that is consistent in it's own right before you even consider the story. Granted they are of course different sorts of fantasy, but I think you get my meaning.

They should do a horror based off Azkanbans origin. According to the wiki. In the 15th century, Some evil wizard named Ekrizdis made the tower with the intent to torture lost sailors that would end up trapped in there. When Ekrizdis eventually passed away his concealment charm wore off and the ministry of magic discovered the tower and repurposed it as a prison. But yeah I can see it as a horror with Ekrizdis as the main villain toying with the main characters because torturing and killing then one by one.

I think the Fantastic Beasts can be used to make more movies than just one, simple stories of newt exploring locations with new characters each film. But in sequel the wizard hitler storyline takes centre stage and sounds shoehorned in from the title alone, why would a magic zoo keeper want to help against Grindelwald when he is no threat to the animals? and keeping Newt as the protagonist makes who should be hero of the story Dumbledore a passive observer thanks to a glorified friendship bracelet, It also makes Grindelwald a boring antagonist because we know that this is a prequel and that any kind of Grindelwald rise will be so inconsequential that it never gets brought up in the other movies

100% agree tbh. HP has such a huge potential to be an insanely immense universe. Think about all the stuff from the og books & movies that we know nothing about, or the history of the wizarding world. And I do agree that the Fantastic Beasts movies just feel like they’re coming up with things and then trying to find a way to shove them into the og HP world and canon (which is pretty much what’s going on lol). There are so many franchises that have been milked dry & then we have HP where we have so many questions yet all we get is bullshit plays that aren’t 100% canon, and a shitty spin-off franchise (when compared to the og HP movies). The only insight we have into the world post/separated from the books and movies is stuff on pottermore and what JK has said and the fan theories Etc. The one franchise that fans are crying to be milked isn’t being milked for the right reasons. There should be like at least 5 movies in the works for this series. But instead all we’re getting is cash grabs, Harry Potter movie wannabes. 🤷🏻‍♂️ idk I feel like I’m not quite explaining myself properly but ye lol

Since all the additional movies made significantly less profits over time after sorceress stone with the exceptions being deathly hollows part one and two being the only ones to out gross the original and thats before adjusting for inflatation you adjust and soccer stones still the most profitable one of the ten films. Plus crimes was the least successfully film finical theatrically since prisoner and that didn’t even break 800 million before adjusting. JK had to much control over crimes which i think is the main reason it underperformed as badly as it did. Plus everything else got worse some how.

i myself thought of a wizard that can somehow take away others power of wizardry, and is trying to like make the knowledge of wizards to muggles common and his reasoning isnt that hes evil or something, or that he wants everyone equal, rather that he thinks that wizzards and muggles should know of the other, and help one another, since well one benefits from the other, while the other one doesnt really do that when you think about it. this could even be taken three directions 1. Make him the antagonist and show why thats a bad thing in the long run, and how he or she takes it is up to the story telling. the person could litteraly either ignore the negatives, or accept them in a way thats not egotistical, like "so what, shit happens" but "i am aware the wrong can come up from this, but it isnt the right thing to do" or simular 2. make that wizzard the hero and either fail at his quest, abbandon it, or partialy succeed untill it either turns against him, or shows it being a good thing, with next stories going for the negatives and trying to fleshout our hero more, by either standing by his belief or abandoning it if the consequences become disasterous. 3. have it be a journey of figuring out that thing. not accomplishing it, figuring out if it even is the right decision, as he or she would be the only wizzard public about being wizzard to muggles.

the title is very misleading.. its pretending harry potter had any potential. Series was always stupid. the only reason twilight was not the worst thing ever written was cause this firmly sat at the bottom and the discopire joined it

@@Aerostarm ah yes the your opinion is trash because its not mine. I liked other things at the time, Original Ghost in the Shell, Afro Samurai and such. Harry potter never drew me most likely cause of the other mediums and medias in the same field. i.e movies. As I was watching other movies like Robocop, T2 and a whole bunch of other things. You can like what you like and you have very good reason to like the series, as I am very neutral towards it but just had a little laugh at its expense in the first comment.
