It’s also irritating that she thinks that evolution will have a fundamental need for her offspring to be taller and strong enough to dunk like the men. Like she is going to just will that in existence. Even if that is how evolution worked we would still have to wait at least two decades for her miracle child that might not want to pursue an athletic career. That’s the mindset now. You can’t tell this type of woman anything anymore. Nothing is up for debate. Some reason people can’t let these women fail and continue to try to help people that clearly don’t want help.

@@Osiris1K also the leading average of 19.5 ppg of all time is pale in comparison if we have more dunks and threes. they would be way more common and much better shooters. leading shooter of all time in % in the top 30 is Larry bird’s daughter, sue bird, with 39%. good %, but I feel like we could get way more 45%s and 50-40-90’s with great shooters, making the games more entertaining. if we lowered rims to 8 ft and shortened the three and ft line to 15-17 ft and 10 ft we’d have more scoring and dominance. sure, the standards are way lower and the fact that this action is necessary to be taken proves that the WNBA standard is lower and they’re not as good, but I think most’ve them accepted and know that already. hopefully

You need flash to draw in average fan that doesn't know that they are running plays, that doesn't know what a pin down is. “My daughter will be drop step dunking.” Ight then lower it now and then raise it later if that’s how you feel. It’s crazy to me that the hill they are willing to die on is an argument regarding even so much as half an inch. It seems like they don’t want what’s best for the league but rather what’s best for their pride. The funny part is that their pride is routed in something no one else cares about. They should just be saying yes yes yes to suggestions that aren’t too ridiculous and then maybe some people will think you’re reasonable and might be motivated to watch your game. I specifically avoid watching the WNBA because of the attitude that the vocal players have. If you need a certain demographic to watch for your league to grow and you’re insulting that demographic and essentially calling them misogynistic for not watching, how the hell do you expect them to want to watch and support you?

I think that type of incident is probably the biggest problem with why the WNBA is struggling to bring in viewership. Despite the promotion that the WNBA gets from the NBA and other leagues, there just seems to be a lot of spite thrown around by WNBA players and those incidents then get raised in the media (which I don't think is necessarily the wrong thing to do because I think it is something that needs to be talked about) which isn't good for business because it shows a lack of gratitude. I understand that the way they see it is that the gap between the NBA & WNBA isn't THAT big and that the pay should be a lot closer because they are the highest level of basketball in the world but financially it doesn't make sense because the WNBA doesn't make money and I think that's something the players over look when they start spitting vitriol back at NBA players regardless of whether they are showing support or not.

@@AlphaTSH hum no, unless if you were either Wilt, Bill or a pro jumper, average vertical in the 60s was lower than today. There are 16 year old kids who jump higher than some in the 60s. The problem isn’t just that they can’t dunk. They are worse at dribbling shooting and passing in general. They have less skill overall. That’s why no one watches.
@AlphaTSH
@AlphaTSH 3 жыл бұрын
@@Nahanoo Height isn’t that big of a factor. Doing a windmill is as much technique as it is jumping ability. Chris Paul never windmilled, nor did John Stockton, or Steve Nash. And of course kids are jumping higher now, because they are more aware and interested in jumping higher and having ways now that you can specifically work on it.

One of the issues of lowering the rims is the logistics and infrastructure. I’ve heard from many women hoopers that they love that they can go into any gym in the country and hoop but now they would need they’re own gyms and/or separate hoops which tbh no one will put the money up for

@@RA_2798 if you can shoot on a 10 foot rim , shooting on a lower rim is easier actually ?? They get upset when you mention lowering the rim, yet the ball is smaller, the season is shorter, the minutes are less the 3 point line is shorter and in all reality the players are much shorter. They are already playing little league basketball. Truth and facts!

She wouldn’t have done much for the sport. Yeah, being Kobe’s daughter would draw a big boost in ratings initially, but being Kobe’s daughter can only have so much hype for so long. Eventually people would stop caring about that title. Gigi still wouldn’t be able to dunk, or do anything remotely eye popping as her dad, and would look relatively the same as other elite WNBA wing players. Brittany Griner was a force of nature women’s basketball had never seen before when she came out of Baylor. She was like Shaq for the women’s game. And yet SHE herself hasn’t been nearly enough to bring WNBA ratings up or help the league gain money.

@@Cbrunning849 I’m not breaking down anybody. I didn’t say she would suck. I simply said, she couldn’t have been a big enough draw to compensate for the MILLIONS the WNBA loses every fucking year. Her being Kobe’s daughter may bring some good ratings whenever she plays, but that’s not going to affect the league OVERALL. She wasn’t going to be DUNKING or anything. She could’ve been a walking bucket, but there’s plenty of those in the WNBA, and neither of them can help the WNBA gain serious money.

Technically, the owner of the Golden State Warriors didn't earn any money from the increase in the teams worth. He would have to officially sell the team to realize any capital gains. Asset gains aren't nothing, they can be used as collateral for loans for example, but they aren't real money until the sale is made.
