I cried all through the movie… I had a white German shepherd that I recently had to put down… he was suffering with a tumor with cancer & internal bleeding…. He would of been 10yrs this November 😢…. His name was Blaze.. and this movie hit hard….

@@setprima the movie is not that good. I'd give it 5.5/10. Terrible acting, bad angle choices in some scenes, poor lion CGI. It's better if they use trained lion so they can do real interactions. The meaning of the story and the main protagonist beauty saved the movie.

Spoiler alert! Don”t continue if you haven’t seen it yet. . When she went out looking for the plane wreck she heard a plane crashed the night before, she didn’t look for any survivors. Was even unfazed when she saw the wreckage. Poor script and directorial job, in this aspect.

This movie would have been superbly great if it was made into a nature documentary-like or full featured animal movie, without human casts, who are mostly bad except for the lead actress (what is the role of the useless scientist?); and without the human dramas which aren't really necessary and only served as runtime fillers. The plot & narratives are weak but the message is clear.

I know you're not really supposed to look at movies like this through a critical lense. It's just a general family-oriented animal friendship movie. I want to enjoy it. But...I just can't ignore all the annoyances I have with it. My main issue is how it handles its moral compass. "What do I do if I find a lion cub in the middle a plane crash? Alert the local authorities?? No, silly! I can just raise it on my own along with this wolf cub that got abandoned by its mother! And I'll get really angry and defensive if anyone tries to object or take them away from me because LaWs and oWNerShIp!" There's a good emotional core somewhere in the film, but it's all buried by lackluster cinematography and editing, a generic background score, bland as all hell actors, conflicted writing, a very misconstrued message, and a frankly annoying main protagonist. Legitimately, in response to her friend telling her that she's acting like a "spoilt brat," as far as I remember her response was, "And you're acting like an old man!" That's not how someone responds to prove they're not acting like a brat, that's just being a brat! But I will say, the bind between the titular wolf and lion was kind of sweet and believable, and from what I know this is based on a true story, so maybe I'm just being overly critical and nitpicky...but I just can't ignore how much of a slog this was for me to watch. I feel bad, because my siblings, especially my sister, really enjoyed it, but I have to be honest with my own personal feelings here. I'll give this film a 3/10. Not completely, unbearably awful, but it's not something I see myself ever watching again. Edit: So I just found out after writing this that it isn't actually based on a true story. I don't know why I thought it was, but I don't think that has any merit on my overall feelings for the movie, just makes me feel a bit dumb.
