So is the cat when it approaches the dog after the POS abuser kicks him out in the rain. The cat approaches carefully and gives a small lick to let the dog know it means no harm. My cat does this when I'm crying. She'll sneak up next to me and lick my arm. One time, I was crying in the dark, and she licked the tears off my cheek. Also, the dog's reaction when the cat lays down next to it, its tail thumps, responding to gentle touch, and when the dog hesitates to let the new human pet it...My heart just melts seeing him happy! This whole thing was made very well by someone who really knows both cats and dogs and *_loves them._* I love animals, too, this warms my heart. Animals are more honest than people, and more forgiving. Anyone that loves either cats or dogs or both can relate to the very real body language we clearly understand replacing shallow words, or even worse, singing and dancing, with the most heartfelt and hard hitting slice of this is what happens daily in any big city even if you don't ever hear a peep about it. There simply is no finer animal movie and maybe never will be one this brutally honest and moving. It gets me every time and I'm supposed to have a LOGICAL personality type.

It frustrates me to no end that dogs are put in horrible situations like fighting to the death for the enjoyment of other bad people. It's criminal and should be outlawed everywhere. It's just so heartbreaking. this was a masterfully done short film.
@dragonmilkshake41355 жыл бұрын
It frustrates even more when people ridicule dogs for their viciousness. They don't care about how lovable and sweet the dog was before or how it was abuse relentlessly for it to become so aggressive. They just see a "violent monster" that they believe should be put down. These Sparkshorts always carry such meaningful messages.
@thorondor15935 жыл бұрын
I agree with that much, but nobody feels sympathy for the birds in cockfighting or the alligators that die very excruciating deaths to trappers. There are humane ways to treat pest gators and roosters. Just because God put animals in our dominion doesn't mean we can find enjoyment in their suffering. The word for that is "sadistic."

i love the small detail when the woman pets the dog, he slightly leans his head away as if expecting to be pushed away or batted, it on top of the initial reaction the woman has when first seeing the dog are what makes me feel sad about the honestly horrible truth that pitbulls are really misunderstood, and some people really go out of their way to make sure their status as "violent breed" stays, which is absolutely horrible. once she pets the dog, i always feel relieved, even on rewatches, because it goes to show that yes they are really just as gentle as other dogs are, and we shouldn't be treating them as anything different. this is all coming from a person who has been living with a pit-lab mix for nearly my whole life, and honestly he's still as sweet as he was when we got him as a pup. love your animals, no matter what people say about them. they hate because they don't get enough love that they deserve, and the best thing you can do as a pet owner is to show them that you still care about them.

People just don’t understand. My dad had a pit bull and it was around me when I was like 3. It passed away like 2 years ago and I was glad I was there to help people see that any dog can be friendly and loving, only if it’s with a good family that will give enough love and attention to it.

My neighbor found a pit puppy on the side of the road and adopted him to us. I've had him since he was about 4 weeks old. My uncle-in-law told us to watch out for him, cause pits can turn at any moment and rip your throat out. It's been 13 years, my dog has never hurt me, my son, my cat (other than accidentally sitting on her cause he still doesn't understand how big he is,) and I've used him to educate kids in the neighborhood how to approach and read big dogs and even helped some of them overcome their fear of large dogs. When a feral decided to drop her kittens off on us, my dog babied them and let them try to nurse him. My cat frequently uses him as a bed. He even saved my life when a fire started outside my door while I was asleep, and he woke me up. Breeds aren't inherently bad. People make them bad.

this is the reason why I love Pixar. The fact that they can take something so simple as a kitten and a pit bull and turn it into the most touching and heartwarming stories you've ever seen. There's no script no dialogue but they don't need that they just want to brighten someone's day and that's exactly what they did. Thank you from the bottom of my heart Pixar for making the most beautiful and magical stories. No other film producer can make a film like you can. @@InternetPirate7 The cat never abused the dog. Every time the dog got close, the kitten puffed up and ran away. The one and only time that the kitten actually hurt the dog was when it couldn't get away. It was trapped and terrified, seeing a threat in the huge animal with teeth nearly as big as the kitten's head. Not realising the dog's good intentions, it just tried to defend itself from a suspected threat. When it became clear that the dog meant no harm, the kitten felt bad and went to comfort it. I thought nothing of them and just left food out whenever I had some leftover from a bag from my own cat. I grew attached to them,even speaking to them in a baby voice(we’ve all done it). When I found out where they got their scars from after asking around if they were anyone’s cats because they seemed tame(they were one of my neighbor’s.) I felt so bad for them. Apparently my neighbor would abuse them when drunk or high,sometimes when he wasn’t. I decided to keep the cats,but as outside cats. This short just crushed my heart. Maybe it's just me, but the filmmakers did an amazing job at replicating the movements of cats and dogs in real life.

Exactly what I was thinking, the slight movements and everything is just so gorgeously done!
@PitukaAJ5 жыл бұрын
I know right! They tracked those movements even though still keeping the cartoony style! Love it!

I was amazed on how they animated the cat. I've been a cat person for the most of my life and I could see a lot of my cat's mannerisms and behaviors with this one in the short lol. Major props to you PIXAR!

When the cat does that sideways walk with his hair and legs straight up, too real!

This is literally the best movie I’ve ever seen. And it’s a short! The message is so heart warming and I hope it helps people understand that pit bulls are not bad dogs, and it’s not their fault that they have such a bad rap. If anyone continued to read this, have a great day everyone, and love your pets!!

It´s not their fault that they have such a bad RAP, it´s Mr Worldwide´s.

This short is not just about saying that pit bulls are not bad dogs, there’s also a bigger message: That even though people could seem to be bad on the outside, they also have their own problems on the inside, and they may be much more kinder than you’d expect. It’s also a message about taking a leap of faith, and meeting new people, deciding to think of them as good people instead of enemies that might try to hurt you.

Man this resonates so much with me. One time after I came home from school, my dad told me about a dog that came to his workplace after being thrown out of a car and in a cardboard box. He had nasty cuts and what looked like burns on him and he was very hesitant to get near anyone. But after a few weeks he started to warm up to the workers there. I’ve visited him many times and he’s one of the most playful and friendly dogs ever. I don’t understand why people hurt animals.

My dog was thrown out a car too. Moving. Poor thing got hurt by other animals as well until a lady found him and took care of him. Tanner now lives a happier life with me and my grandparents. ❤

the way this animator mimics the way a cat and a dog would act is amazingly fantastic!
