The round end theme of the Red Tide operation maps (Volga river, Tsaritsyn) in Battlefield 1, extended. These battles take place during the Russian civil war, between the Russian red army (bolshevik revolutionaries) and the Russian white army (Traditional imperialists + loyalists).
Historically, the Russian civil war was extremely important and its outcome dictated not only the future of Russia but of the entire world up to this very day.

I am not a fan of the Bolsheviks, but I feel like things would have been harder to organize if the white army had one. The white Army was not unified under as unified in political doctrine as the reds were. Some were imperialists and wanted to restore the tsardom, while others wanted a constitutional republic. It all depends on which faction ultimately achieved dominance.
