Battlefield 1 nailed the atmosphere of actually being in a WAR. The themes, environment and the war speeches before a match (in operations game mode) were just amazing. There are also other BF1 trailer you guys should see (Reveal trailer, other gameplay trailer and revolution trailer).

Heard reveal is amazing. We have good Battlefield list going full of recs and we’d have to agree that the gameplay we’ve seen from this is super immersive and gives the chaos of what war would seem to be 😧

What Battlefield 1 did pretty good was picturing War. Especially the maps Verdun and Passchendaele. These Two Maps look like Hell and it's pretty accurate to what WW1 must have felt like to a soldier.

What I loved about all four of these trailers is how they convey the tone of the war and how each of the countries in each trailer showed how the war was going for the person narrating. For example, in the French DLC, you see resolve and sacrifice. France has incorrectly been given a terrible amount of flak for how they fought this war when in reality, the French faught for years before the US ever showed up. The Battle of Verdun, millions of shells raining down on them, Fort Vaux where just a handful of soldiers were barricaded for months. But still they would not give in. In the Russian DLC, you hear the sounds of a dying empire, downtrodden, and at Civil War. Yet still with war hardened soldiers who are comfortable in even the worst of conditions. In a battle of attrition, there were no better. In the British Royal marine trailer, you hear hubris. The British were trying to rob the Middle East of their resources and thought these people were beneath them, surely they would be no match for their technological superiority. They learned the same lesson that the US would learn much later in Vietnam. And in the final Apocalypse trailer, you hear despair. Desperation, bordering on madness. At that point in the war, the soldiers had been fighting in the trenches for so long in such brutal conditions that it became quite evident that there was no "winning" this war. The only hope was to survive

It’s important to remember that World War 1 was the last war where all weapons were still “analog” so to speak. Everything has to be done by hand. Artillery has to be all manually hauled supplied and most importantly aimed via nothing but man power. By the time WW2 started we had learned our lesson and vehicles had become increasingly more convenient and reliable. Powered turrets were also a massive upgrade. WW1 was really so brutal because it was the first modern battleground but it was lacking modern vehicles. The vehicles were crude and basic w little to no armor, plus you had to be much much closer to be effective. The beginning of the war was almost entirely trench infantry combat w nothing but poorly aimed artillery. It’s called the brutal basics.

Btw the speech of the French soldier in the trailer is appart of the French national anthem « la Marseillaise », and yes it’s a violent anthem that litterally invites french peoples to let the impure blood of their ennemies flows into the streets

The last 2 lines " Impure blood, Water our fields" means The French People who are willing to gave their lives for their Motherland (France is a she) "La Marseillaise" was written in 1792 by Claude Joseph Rouget during The Franco -Austria War. I was once to be a Revolutionnary War Song before it became the National Anthem of France. Another thing, the French flag surrender joke is not what you think it is

The french one is the best period, even the DLC in itself is the best The differences in wwi and ww2 is WWI was pretty static combat hand to hand, with shovels and pointed clubs even renmant sword, guns ( pretty modern) and shitload off artillery , with a lot of soldier sacrifice. WWII was on a faster rate with lenghier shootout battle ( tank, planes etc) and the real difference is the civilian massacre, genocide in WWII thats the normal civilian people which paid the harder price. In history of war the more time pass, the more its the civilian that are targeted.

Battlefield 1 is just a masterpiece in many ways. In my opinion, it is the top peak of what this franchise (should be) is about. It not only does look fantastic, not only the sound and soundtrack give you goosebumps, but also makes you sink into the well created atmosphere (best in this franchise IMO) and let you feel like a soldier (one of many) at war.

Battlefield one is One of my favorite games. The trailers for this is where the nailed it and every time there’s a reaction for any of them I always click on it because I love to see people‘s reaction to them whether it be sheer horror for apocalypse my favorite DLC because I am a history buff and well when you think of World War I those are the images that come to mind. When people remember the French they talk about how they surrendered but not how they fought. The French army suffered around 6 million casualties, including 1.4 million dead and 4.2 million wounded, roughly 71% of those who fought. In war we are all the same. DICE the studio(s) responsible for the Battlefield franchise have 3 studios working on the next Battlefield often referred to as Battlefield 6 because the last one was called Battlefield V (5) but I think the one is going to be just Battlefield and the trailer IS going to be released sometime in June so do keep an eye out for it the Apocalypse dlc trailer is my favorite and possibly the best looking map that shows war with the amount of destruction with buildings turned into rubble, dead trees with no leafs, chlorine gas lingering off in the distance and puddle of water tinted green from said chlorine gas

I'm the Queen of Battlefield 👑 my brothers got me Call of Duty but I found Battlefield myself and got really good at it. I can't wait for 6 because No. 4 was my favorite. It will be set in modern times just like 4.

Ive recently came back to BF1 but unfortunately the only maps I get playing Operations are Monte Grappa 1,000 times over with Ballroom Blitz and if I'm lucky Fao Fortress. Never anything else it's fast becoming boring I wish the rotation was actually working better for me

Battlefield does a very good job of immersing you in the what was but does tend to sway off from accuracy for intensity. From what I've learned through the years the war was more than what any of us could realize or even dream and think of. Veterans would never talk about the war because of how intense it is. I sometimes don't want to talk about it either due to how must've seen and read. I'm genuinely haunted by pictures I've seen from books and old movie tapes
