One of my favorite novels. Haunting.I happened upon this book in one of the lowest points in my life. I was trapped in my own sand(y) pit; I felt like I was suffocating on every word. But I couldn't stop reading it. Really great channel, man. Love your authenticity. I hope things have gotten better for you since this video.

I’ve had The woman in the dunes on my shelf for years and I still haven’t gotten around to reading it! I think I’ll dive into it when I finish neuromancer 😊

I give your decision to eschew number ratings 6/5! Going to check this book out if I can get my hands on it, the sand metaphor has me curious.

Found this book on my bookshelf, and I always meant to read it. I came to KZbin to listen to a quick synopsis of the themes of the book that did not have spoilers. I am glad I came upon your review. I am going to begin reading it tonight.

the book and movie could not be more classic. its short but you are very right you have to take your time with it and be in the right mood. kind of like for cormac mccarthy’s the road or any of his books really.

I'd like to recommend Sisyphean by Dempow Torishima. It is Japanese science fiction, very weird, a lot of body/biological horror, and a mosaic novel. Words do not do justice to this book. It's also illustrated by the author. The translater also deserves credit.

Sounds way up my alley. Thanks.

I recently read his short story "The Bet" and absolutely loved it. This novel has been on my radar for a while, too. It sounds... extremely doomer. But I'm sure I will read it.

Intriguing review. Seems we have a similar outlook on life so I might check this one out.
