An update on the bizarre and unbelievable saga of Robin Niceta - a social worker who was accused of a wide variety of sociopathic crimes, who attempted and failed to fake a brain tumor to escape accountability due to the persistence of a local city councilwoman and the assistance of some anonymous doctors on Reddit.

The original video that tells the story from the beginning: kzbin.info/www/bejne/e323aJlopJaDqpI 2/9 UPDATE: Welcome to the Ann Reardon fans! =) 11/7 UPDATE: On Nov 7, Niceta was found guilty of both original charges related to her initial false child sex abuse claim. Sentencing for them is scheduled for Jan 19. Meanwhile, she still has all of the pending charges related to the submission of the photoshoped MRI scan and fabricated medical records; the date of that trial is TBA. I still find her not guilty plea perplexing. The records she submitted as evidence are without any doubt whatsoever fabricated with the intent to deceive the court. Niceta's rumored defense that the evidence was fabricated by her mother and that Niceta had nothing to do with it is hard to swallow when Niceta literally pretended to be minimally responsive in court multiple times. The only open question on the case is whether her mother goes down with her...

I too came here from Ann Reardon's video and I'm just flabbergasted that neither CBS news or the court *independently* verified those medical claims. Also I'm no doctor but as a graphic designer those images looked sus as can be. My IMMEDIATE reaction was to doubt them for the obvious reasons: tumor isn't in the same relative location from scan to scan, two images show the exact same tumor even though...like, it should be viewing the other side? The back of a thing doesn't usually look exactly like the front of a thing? Just the complete lack of critical thinking from entities that should be superb at it!

Honestly my mind is blown. I guess I always just assumed that any kind of records would automatically be authenticated before being accepted as evidence. Now that I know that's apparently not the case, were I to serve on a jury in the future, I would have a hard time putting much weight in such "evidence."
@Amaranthyne
@Amaranthyne 3 ай бұрын
@@heatherangel9700 I served on a grand jury. I have little faith in the system, full stop. Indictment by grand jury is a joke. A drug recognition expert they brought in (and the lawyers touted) used homeopathic theories to explain medication. One of his examples being ADHD+stimulants=calm because they counteract each other. The reality is the stimulants _stimulate_ the decision making center of the brain which is under-active in people with ADHD. When I threw that at him he had no idea what I was talking about 🙄 Another time people didn’t care that someone had committed a crime, they just thought it “wasn’t our business” because it was domestic violence-even though children were genuinely endangered.

Take this story and write it up for a medical journey and potentially to a legal journal. It is critically important that other physicians understand the incompetence of the legal system with regards to medical diagnosis and the potential harms to real individuals if we do not work to ensure the validity and accuracy of medical-legal issues. It boggles the mind to think how many potential lives are harmed because of a courts misinterpretation of medical evidence which could harm both defendants and plaintiffs. In this case only a chance external intervention corrected the error.
@skicreature
@skicreature 9 ай бұрын
Also we should be cautious to blame the prosecutors and local media of incompetence. It remains likely there are systemic flaws. The shortcuts they seem to be taking may be their attempt to triage tasks in a resource deficient environment. Replacing these individuals with new “more” competent individuals may not improve future outcomes.

Potential jurors should take notice as well. I know that I just assumed any records or documentation were authenticated prior to be accepted as evidence, but I am blown away now that I know that even this basic step may not be taken. I will definitely be looking at submitted "evidence" with an EXTREMELY wary and suspicious eye if I serve any more jury duty in the future.

This reminds me of a case from New Zealand. A man, Yuvaraj Krishnan, went to court for minor driving charges, and was discharged without conviction because a conviction would have impact on his occupation as a doctor. 2 years later, it was discovered that he was not a real doctor, although he was working as one. He was sent to prison. He appealed the light sentence he was given. The judge for the appeal was the same judge he'd lied to about being a doctor 2 years previously. His lawyer asked the judge to recuse himself, and the judge did.

I think many have wondered the same about former chief Wilson. The last time she stuck her head into the public sphere was Nov 2022, when she announced that she was suing Aurora for wrongful termination (or something like that), but as far as I know, that lawsuit went nowhere. I think Wilson was also implicated in the Kirstin Nichols lawsuit against Niceta for making a false claim of domestic abuse against her. On one hand, it's relieving that Niceta has been found guilty of 2 crimes, and that she lost her defamation lawsuit by Jurinsky, but there is still a long way to go before justice completely catches up to everyone involved in this mess.

My understanding is that lawyers can not just quit, or they face disbarment. The judge has to allow it. Why would the judge let them off the hook like that?
@StrongMed
@StrongMed 3 ай бұрын
IANAL, but I would guess it's because the lawyers were tricked into being unwitting accomplices in a felony (i.e. they submitted the fabricated evidence to the court before it was determined to be fake). The lawyers need to worry that they could find themselves the target of their own criminal investigation as possible knowing accomplices, in which case the lawyers' interests and the client's interests have diverged, and they can no longer faithfully represent them.

Number 2, the oncology office the records came from doesn’t exist. And number 3, we took the medical scans to another doctor who doubts they’re legit.” “Randy, Randy. Sorry to interrupt you, what was that 2nd one?” “Let’s see, uh, the oncology office doesn’t exist.” “See, I probably would have stopped reading after number two. In fact, I would have read number two first. But that’s just me and probably ever adult on Earth.” Like even if the DA’s office (or CBS) wasn’t suspicious of the scans, you would think they’d check out who the doctor is and contact him or her to talk about the patient and the case. And then see the oncology office doesn’t exist. And a fake FB page is your lede over the fact that the phone number of the “doctor” is a burner bought by her mother?

Feb. 2024 Niceta was found guilty of attempting to influence a public servant and filing a false child abuse report. The report came after Jurinsky made critical comments about former Police Chief Vanessa Wilson, whom Niceta was dating at the time. Niceta was an Arapahoe County social worker when she targeted the councilwoman. There was drama in a courtroom on Friday after a judge threatened to clear the room after sentencing for a former Arapahoe County social worker was delayed again. Robin Niceta was supposed to learn her sentence for crimes against Aurora City Council Member Danielle Jurinsky. But the judge said Niceta’s attorney would not make it to the hearing, and people scoffed. This was the second time Niceta’s attorney had been absent. Niceta was found guilty of false allegations against Jurinsky, who spoke in court during the hearing. Niceta’s next hearing was set for April 12 with a new attorney.

CBS Colorado misspelling Niceta is 👌

It's just too perfect. I'm also 95% sure CBS Colorado consistently mispronounces her name, based on how she pronounced it herself during one of her court hearings in which she actually spoke. (They pronounce it with a short e sound, she pronounced it in court with a long e.)

If the allegations are true, Ms. Niceta appears to be a person likely to thrive in a jail environment.

I came here because of Ann Reardon. I love my kids and grandkids dearly but I would never lie like that for them if I knew it was a scam.

Thanks for the update. Also yea, I dont think a pediatrician is the best authority to ask about such a thing unless she has experience as an oncologist.

What about that nasty box-checking police chief? She's the one who sicked her bureaucrat lover on someone like an attack dog, trying to take someone's kids away for her own satisfaction. At least it sure looks that way. I'm sure she'll say Niceta did it all on her own accord at no direction from anyone else.

I am just astounded at the participation in this deception by several players. To make the Judge recuse himself is ridiculous, give me a break. The next thing will be “It’s my Mums fault “. Great job, can’t wait to see what she gets for this 🇦🇺❤️ Great job, can’t wait to see what she gets
