Thanks for another great podcast. I am convinced in the Princes survival, and it is nice to know that others are as well.

Dr Lacey....CONGRATULATIONS on your achievement. And thank you both for this great discussion. You really open up a lot...and I wish for another talk soon. I would be quite convinced on Perkin Warbeck being Shrewsbury BUT...for the later trial of Tyrell and the finding of the 2 sets of bones later. It'll drive us nuts. What WAS going on with Margaret? Sheesh. I'll be pondering for another while. 😂

The flaw I see in the argument about Elizabeth Woodville surely believing Richard III didn't harm her two youngest sons, otherwise she wouldn't let her daughters leave sanctuary, is the solid fact that Richard had her elder son and her brother killed. I can imagine no mother trusting the murderer of her child, even if that child was not technically as 'valuable' politically as the others. Elizabeth Woodville was savvy enough to realize that in sanctuary her daughters stood no chance to lead normal lives - they could not marry, could do nothing but rely on the charity of the church. We have no idea what Elizabeth was told about the fate of her sons, and hence why one of her daughters believed in the Perkin Warbeck pretender, but it seems likely she felt she and her daughters at least stood a chance of avenging their loss of status and the deaths of their loved ones if they were not confined and were at court. Considering how insightful and intelligent she is presented, it makes no sense to have her act in any other way than strategically, and it definitely was strategic to do as she did.

Thank you ladies, that, to me, makes rhe most sense by a long shot. I e always thought Perkin Warbeck was the real deal. And answers too many questions. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if, one day, Richard was vindicated and we’d all know what happened. And why? There’s still the ‘why’. Was the reason give being truthful. 🙏🙏🙏👵🇦🇺

I find it interesting that the Tudor chroniclers basically argue that both Elizabeth Woodville and Magaret of York went bonkers and ravingly anti-Henry VII, of course due to both of them being Yorkists.

Missed crucial point here - Richard arrested her brother Antony and son Richard along with. edV household. That is when she went to sanctuary . Of course relationship would deteriorated rapidly

That Richard was named protector is also debatable. It was a codicil to the will and do we know the authenticity of this document?
