What an amazing group of women, who not only welcomed music from another culture but mastered & spread it worldwide! That's diplomacy & peacemaking at it's most fun. God bless them

She played with the GSSPF Pipes and Drums platoon? What an honour, to be playing the pipes along with Gurkhas. A ferocious and admirable bunch. 💪

This is a waste of taxpayers' money. SPF's role is to provide security and not entertainment. There are professionals who can do this job much cheaper and better quality. Defund SPF.

There's a thing called pomp, tradition, and pageantry. This is the legacy of the British. If you don't like it, you have absolutely no class. Jesus.

They are indeed professionals because not only do they do Singapore Police Force duties but play band as well. "WPPD’s musical training schedule is flexible, allowing members to focus on their work or family commitments. They undergo the usual police training when they need to be deployed or go on police operations. When big events like the Police Day Parade roll around, they undergo extensive rehearsals that can stretch on until 8 or 9pm. “We will tell our families beforehand so that they can understand our work schedule and they know I’ll spend time (with them) later once the schedule is less packed,” said SSS Ahllima, who provides security crowd management at high-profile events as part of her SPF duties."

So the Scots Guards do not provide military support to the British? The SAF Central Band doesn't contribute to our national defence through deterrence? It's people like you that made the Victoria Police Pipe Band go from internationally renowned and respected Grade 1 standard to a simple ceremonial band with no grading. (Edit: to add, since so many police forces around the world have pipe bands, the existence of SPF pipers enables us to be on a level playing field with other police forces in terms of PR and common identity, which helps to foster better relations especially if they're sent overseas to perform) If you want to hate on all things good by all means carry on. Just know that with every siaolang like you, there's 10 more than will disagree with you vehemently

@@dtang3288 to be fair the SAF's band doesn't do any fighting at all. They're musicians first unlike other militaries, but that doesn't mean their contribution to our country doesn't matter (like MDC as much as it's the butt of all jokes at times)
