Nice comparison. I found the lockdown in the 1.4 to be lacking in both the toebox and heel - despite the tight squeeze in the midfoot. How’s the lockdown on these?

It's definitely better in the lockdown department. With that said though, if the shape of the 1.4 in the toebox is more comfortable, then these aren't worth the update. The improvement is not substantial enough to upgrade. If you want a speedboot with phenomenal lockdown, especially in the heel, the mercurial vapor 13 is the goat. That boots lockdown is nuts. Additionally, another boot that's pretty good heel lockdown but more of a relaxed fit is the Mizuno Morelia Neo III Beta Elite.

Yeah, I have the 1.2 and 1.4s. I love the 1.2s, but never really wear the 1.4s. I’ll probably skip these… I love the Betas - great lockdown and amazing leather. Never got around to getting the Vapor 13s. Thanks For the recommendation! And Keep up the good work.

The 1.2’s are so nice. I swear the year we had the ultra 1.2’s, the vapor 13, and X ghosted with its carbontex was a goated year for speed boots. Yeah if the Ultra Ultimate isn’t a perfect fit, it’s probably not worth it, except for the fact it is pretty good on ag. Gots to be a 4-g pitch though and I can’t say it be any better then the ultra 1.2 on ag.

Yes, that was a good year for speedboots! I still wear the ghosted and the 1.2s from time to time.

What about the sizing? Does it go by women’s sizing?

It goes by women's sizing, so go 1 and a half sizes up from your men's size. Sorry that I forgot to mention that😅

how would u say these feel after they broke in? i’m thinking about buying a pair!

They feel pretty good, but very barefoot. Almost paper thin, But still has enough structure so that it doesn’t feel like your foot is going to burst through the boot. Slim shape, not a lot of volume, so they fit me nicely but if you have a wide foot or higher volume foot, they may not be for you.

@@footlooseboots if i wanted slightly more volume would u recommend the women’s pair? also does the upper stretch a little bit when it’s broken in?

If you want volume, yes I would recommend the women's pair, just remember to go 1.5 sizes up. These boots don't really stretch, more so mold to your shape, if that makes any sense.
