I love this song. I always thought this was a "90s" song, it's a head of its time. Miles is a babe; I love the faces he makes in this video and his luscious hair.

Song that changed my life... was recording Enter the Dragon on ITV on VHS & left it recording till the tape run out, there was about 15 mins left after the film & a show called Rockin’ in the UK got recorded too, 1st or 2nd video that was on was this, it shaped my life, friends, girlfriends, pubs/clubs I went to in my late teens/early twenties, good times 😁

Rockin’ in the UK was a fantastic music programme. Really captured the late 80s indie scene and bands and perfect viewing after a night out. I've still got a load of clips recorded on old VHS tapes.

The bass thing. Very underrated and the backbone of their sound.

I went to a lot of gigs in the 80s but their performance after the first album came out at Leeds (Uni - I think) was mental. When they launched into this, the audience surged forward so hard, I lost my hat and a shoe. They had their finger on the pulse for a short period and it was wonderful to behold.

I went to see The Levellers a few years back, which everyone knows are a great band. The Wonder Stuff were the support act and they blew them away, this song in particular.

I can remember being at the Boston arms listening to the whole album being played before seeing Birdland and The Primitives.

First heard this album (on cassette--still the primary medium in '87-'88) when the amazing Kate played it while toiling at our pizza joint. She said she "normally only listened to thrash, just total thrash," but this "blew her away." I concurred--whimsical yet still serious power pop, with a layer of punkish guitar and attitude. The fun associative memories are great, but this shit HOLDS UP!

Thank god someone finally uploaded this properly to KZbin! As others have said, this video also changed my life. Saw it late one night on 120 Minutes (MTV Alternative Rock video show from back in the day, hosted by Dave Kendall), and it blew my mind. Before Jellyfish, Teenage Fanclub, Kingmaker, etc. these guys were kicking my ass!

The Wonderstuff one of the biggest bands in the U.K. late 80’s and early 90’s. I was a huge fan and they are easily one of the best live bands ever and I’ve seen 1000’s. It’s shocking that this channel only has 3.5k subs. Thanks for the awesome memories Miles, Malc, Rob (rip), Gilksy (rip), Fiddly and Paul xxx

Got this single when it first came out. The artwork was glorious. No clear, glossy band pictures. Something very underground, cult, indie about them...I wish they'd remaind like that for longer before making their bid for the big time. Great times growing up in that era though and the first album stands the test of time very well imo. X
