this is such a modern TWY song and yet (to me) has such strong mid-'00s vibes (in a good way) in the main riff and the solo-ish riff over the bridge also, in classic soupy form, just tons of callbacks through these four songs so far: madelyn, steadier footing, ruins everything, etc. (edit: and wyatt's song --> passing through a screen door, of course)

As someone who developed Punk as my first real musical love, I began my metal-quest two years ago after getting really into Doom. We may be two sides of the same coin. Different inscription on each side, but a shared base and value. Rock on bro.

When I was younger I was almost exclusively into metal, and thanks to a few bands lighter bants like A Day To Remember and Atreyu I had softened my stance it led me into pop punk, which led me to TWY and The Upsides album. My favorite band since!

Same, about 2 weeks before this song came out I started to get extremely depressed and negative, I started to get health issues from it. I thought I was having a heart attack and went to the E.R. but they couldn't find anything, come to find out I was having anxiety attacks, I never knew the human mind was capable of feeling this low. Made me realize that mental health is very important, and that money doesn't help, the only thing that can grant happiness is helping others out, and having supportive people in your life to reciprocate the help you give to others.

Damn. This is one of their best songs. Or rather is is so like… SO VERY TWY. It stands out as an amazing song and like YOU KNOW who made it. Also the line “I’m growing out my hair bc who gives a shit” is so interesting to me bc I have been growing out my hair but I got tired of it. I went from a mullet to a short bob to a bob that is almost to my shoulers and now I’m about to cut it all off again and do like a loose pixie but with the sides shaved down around the ears. Bc I miss that hair style. For me its “I’m cutting off my hair bc who gives a shit” life feels horrible and lately it’s been ass for me and a hair cut always helps me feel better. I will be jamming out to this through out my day. And right after I saw this I saw that one of my other favorite bands is releasing a new single soon and I’m like “wow. These are birthday presents bc my birthday is in just over a month!” And being like “yea these must be my birthday presents for still managing to be alive!” Kinda sad but kinda good. I get rewarded with new singles for not having KMS’d yet. Or yanno my health getting worse again and plummeting like that one time a few years ago. Haha. Anyways this single is beyond lit and I am very excited
