The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza co-presented a two-part panel discussion, "The Work of the Warren Commission, Half a Century On: Its Methods, Successes & Questions." The first panel featured several members of the Warren Commission staff to discuss their roles on the commission and how the experience affected their professional lives. Judge Burt W. Griffin, Justice Richard M. Mosk, Justice Stuart R. Pollak, Professor W. David Slawson and Howard P. Willens made remarks moderated by The Honorable Sarah R. Saldana, U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Texas. The presentation took place October 11, 2013 on Southern Methodist University's Dallas campus. It was presented in partnership with the SMU Dedman School of Law and the John G. Tower Center for Political Studies. To see related films, photos, documents and oral histories from The Sixth Floor Museum's collection, visit our online collections database (emuseum.jfk.org). Was Lee Harvey Oswald in Mexico City when everyone says he was? Yes - but so was the Oswald imposter. Both of them were there on seperate missions for the agencies they were working for at the time. According to Judith Vary Baker, Oswald's girlfriend and co-worker at the Rielly Coffee Company in New Orleans, a CIA front, Oswald as a CIA operative, was sent to Mexico City to deliver a cancer inducing chemical weapon that was developed by Baker, David Ferrie and renowned Dr. Mary Sherman, at a secret CIA lab, operated by a Dr. Oshler, a well known cancer specialist at the time, who had a clinic in New Orleans as well as being a high-ranking CIA operative. The poison was supposed to be used to assassinate Fidel Castro. That is how Oswald found himself in Mexico City. Now, whether he was actually delivering the poisonous substance, is what Oswald was told, regardless, Oswald was in Mexico City. By this time, Oswald had multiple personal FBI and CIA files, including 201 files that could be made to provide any type of information that would provide any type of cover story to incriminate Oswald which CIA could make public to suit their purposes. It was the Oswald imposter who was involved in all the Cuban and Soviet embassy business, not Oswald himself. Baker's claims have never been disputed. Oswald was set up as a possible patsy in the future and CIA had the files to verify their story on Oswald. Records show that Oswald was likely working for multiple agencies including FBI, OSI & CIA. J. Edgar Hoover had known about Oswald as early as 1959 and had passed along information about Oswald to Bobby Kennedy before his brother's assassination. To believe that Oswald was some low life, lone nut assassin, who acted alone to kill the president of the USA is utterly ridiculous. The amount of evidence that disputes that conclusion is overwhelming. CASE CLOSED. Oswald did NOT shoot Kennedy that day in Dallas. There is NO doubt that Kennedy was a victim of a government conspiracy, carried out by elements of the CIA, in co-operation with many groups who wanted Kennedy dead because they felt threatened by Kennedy's intentions to implement reforms that would cost the military-industrial complex billions of dollars.

I had been given an advance copy to the Review Board. I had heard, as many who had worked on the case had, the rumor about Slawson’s colleague, William Coleman, another Warren Commission attorney. The rumor was that Coleman had, at his poolside, told a British researcher that the two attorneys, Coleman and Slawson, had traveled to Mexico City in the spring of 1964 and listened to the tape-recorded intercept of a phone call allegedly made by Lee Harvey Oswald in Mexico City in the fall of 1963. In view of the CIA’s claim that the tapes had all been erased several weeks before the assassination, this second-hand hearsay was interesting. The rumor about Coleman’s remark was nevertheless useless in terms of its credibility. Another Board member explained the facts to Slawson: the Review Board was now, by statute, the governing authority on the withholding of any information concerning the JFK case. Slawson was asked a second time: “Did you listen to the Mexico City tapes?” Again, he replied with the exact same words, “I’m sorry, but I’m not at liberty to discuss that.” It was not my place to say anything to him but I wanted to, for I knew what was at stake. On the table was an advance copy of Oswald and the CIA, and in that book I had made the argument that Oswald’s voice was not on the Mexico City tapes. I've looked at the case several times over the past 45 years or so - purely as a layman wanting to understand what happened. I think the Warren Commission got closer to the solution than anyone else did, with the exception of the timing of the 1st shot. I'm with Max Holland on that, ie Zapruder turned his camera back on a few seconds late, and didn't film it, however... one mystery still perplexes me... namely the switch from the heavy ornamental coffin, to body bag in a shipping casket, that must have happened between unloading from Airforce One and arriving at Bethesda. What's with that? Has anyone come up with a credible explanation yet?
@aaronz7056
@aaronz7056 Жыл бұрын
People were mistaken... Jackie and RFK accompanied the casket tot he hospital. People who claim the body was "messed with" have yet to explain two things: - how a "conspiracy" was able to approach and recruit scores of FBI, Secret Service, military personnel, doctors, witnesses, etc., and persuade them all to alter wounds, fake reports, forge autopsies and falsify x-rays, thus making themselves accessories to murder and treason - why it would be so urgent and necessary to take so many risks doing that instead of just saying Oswald must have had an accomplice who got away, which most people would have bought just fine and which would have suited a conspiracy just fine.
@BenLondonN6
@BenLondonN6 Жыл бұрын
@@aaronz7056 I agree that the body being mucked about with is implausible but I’m still perplexed by those in the casket receiving detail at Bethesda, assembled by Petty Officer Dennis David, who said that Kennedy arrived in a body bag inside a standard aluminium shipping casket. After David’s detail had carried it into the autopsy room, Dr. J Thornton Boswell, one of the pathologists, confirmed to David that Kennedy’s body had been inside it and David said that it had arrived in a black private ambulance between 18:05 and 18:15. That contradicts the narrative that the ornamental bronze coffin had arrived at Bethesda at 18:55, with Kennedy’s body in it and accompanied by Mrs. Kennedy, in the light grey ambulance. I am not a conspiracy theorist by any means but I think it’s possible that the body could have been moved and transported in a different casket and ambulance, out of the legitimate fear, that it might be intercepted and stolen.

***BenLondonN6*** I had seen a 1-2 hour interview with Clint Hill, who was one of Secret Service bodyguards riding on the running board of the follow-up car behind the Presidential limousine at the fateful moment when President Kennedy shot. Clint Hill was at Parkland Hospital with Mrs. Kennedy, during that tumultuous time, when a local Dallas mortuary was contacted. The most deluxe and expensive casket offered by that mortuary is what was selected for President Kennedy at that time. While it was the best, the sturdiest, and the most of the line casket was chosen, it wasn’t the most practical for Secret Service Agents for carrying up the stairs and into the airplane. The casket’s carrying handles had to be broken off at that time in order to be able to fit it through the airplane’s doorway. The casket was also reported to have weighed 600 pounds with nothing in it, which was heavy to be carrying into and out of an airplane. So, it appears that President Kennedy’s change to a different casket during or after the airplane ride was done for practical reasons.

But appointing Dulles showed the true colors of what Warren was all about, given Kennedy had just fired him. It wasn't an investigation at all, right from the start. Warren is formed to ensure they can narrow the scope to Oswald, they dismiss any leads to the contrary, and their outcome was predetermined, as Hoover himself indicates in a memo to Johnson. @@ghostdance56 As you've aptly demonstrated, even the biggest lie can contain a small kernel of truth. The problem rests in your mutating the mini grains into a whole wayward wheat field. Yes, the FBI’s investigation was too short, for your select taste. But forget Hoover, as the DPD had essentially solved the case within a day, and as it turns out, they got it entirely correct. The idea of something wrong with Dulles serving on the WC panel has nowhere to go in light of the facts that 1) There’s been no proof in 58+ years that the CIA was involved in the assassination and 2) It was RFK, the slain president's brother who recommend Dulles to LBJ (unless you're foolish enough to allege Bobby was in on the big-ass vast conspiracy to murder and/or cover up the murder of his own brother). If you think the Warren report was a “fraud,” you must write your own exhaustive ~800 page report in rebuttal; inclusive of solid evidence, i.e. the full name of the alternate assassin, an identified linked weapon, bullet(s) and/or bullet fragments etc. to support a fully delineated cogent and viable alternate story line. However, given that most CT's like yourself are simply mindless recyclers of long-debunked “theories,” handicapped by poor writing skills, and hobbled by a dearth of credible evidence, it's no surprise that as far as writing a report goes, in 58+ years, not one of you has produced Page One. That's the *_real_* fraud in this case.

The question then arises why all these lawyers are so solidly behind the Commission's procedures and conclusions. The reality is that if any of the lawyers had broken from this unanimity it would have effectively been the end of their career. There is no way that the FBI, CIA, Justice Department etc. would not have hounded them as radicals or conspiracy nuts. The Sixth Floor institute is clearly highly biased. Oswald was a low level CIA operative that they manipulated into becoming a patsy, just like Lee said. There were lots of reasons and lots of people who wanted Jack out of the way, but none had the money and power to accomplish it until the owners of the "Federal" Reserve, the Rothschilds (52%), decided he had to go. You see, the Rothschilds had their own pet projects. One of these was the newly formed state of Israel (16 yrs). This family, ever vigilant about global resources, understood the major role that the energy stocks of oil and uranium and especially the Middle-East would play in future strategic chess games of world politics. They needed a trump card to protect their investment. One that no amount political turmoil could unravel. Nuclear weapons were the perfect military asset that a small country like Israel could have! Jack Kennedy or no Jack Kennedy Israel was gonna have them! So early in 1963 the Israelis arranged the theft of 200 pounds of weapons grade Uranium from a manufacturing plant in Apollo, Pennsylvania! U.S. Intelligence traced that theft to Israel. So in a letter dated May 18, 1963, the President demanded an inspection of the Dimona Nuclear Research Facility in the Negev desert. Rothschild was adamant that they would never ever even get close to that Uranium! So, to avoid answering the Presidential Letter, Prime Minister David ben Gurion resigned! This would buy them the time they needed to formulate a response. They had to make it clear to the Americans that no inspection of Israel's nuclear weapons research lab would be tolerated! Now you can see why they chose an Israeli Arms dealer to oversee the movie "JFK" and why they are STILL keeping the reason for the assassination a secret! Even at this late date, knowledge of these events would have severe foreign policy repercussions!

They were furious at Jacks reluctance to start the war in Viet Nam. And the most important fact was that he wanted to print our money at the Treasury Department, on other words to take their control at the Fed. Which they run since 1913 up to today. Johnson was the one they wanted there, he would reverse Kennedy's policies, which he did. And this coup knew it could safely approach and recruit scores of police, ballistics experts, FBI, Secret Service, Oswald's family, military personnel, x-ray technicians, doctors, witnesses, journalists, news anchors, network honchos, the Chief Justice, lawyers, congressmen, counsels, senators, etc., and persuade them all to trust each other implicitly, obey illegal orders to commit serious and complex crimes, make themselves all accessories to murder and treason and bend over backwards helping a coup overthrow their own government *how* exactly...?

@@2DclanSnipingTeam The HSCA had no proof of a conspiracy. They named no names and recommended charges against any person or group. The only determinator for their conclusion of "probable conspiracy" was audio from a dictabelt recording alleged to reveal a 4th shot. But that notion was debunked 3 years later by the the National Academy of Science. Which left the HSCA with nothing meaningful but a commendation from the Warren Commission for their fine work.

@@apointofinterest8574 Wrong! There was inter fighting and disagreements! People were fired and replaced and a few quit! McCloy was an early opponent of the Lee Harvey Oswald as the lone-gunman theory. At the Warren Commission meeting on 16th December, 1963, Allen Dulles gave out copies of a ten-year old book that looked at the seven previous attempts on the lives of various presidents. The author argued that presidential assassins typically are misfits and loners. Dulles told his colleagues, “…you’ll find a pattern running through here that I think we’ll find in this present case.” McCloy replied: “The Lincoln assassination was a plot”. McCloy also told his wife he was having difficulty with the lone-gunman theory. He also informed her that he thought Oswald was having a relationship with the intelligence services before the assassination. McCloy commented that he thought it was “pretty suspicious” that Oswald had found it so easy to obtain an exit visa from the Soviet Union for his Russian wife, Marina Oswald. McCloy told his wife that he had heard “a very realistic rumor” that Oswald was not a genuine defector and that he was sent to the Soviet Union by the CIA. McCloy was also concerned about the workings on the Warren Commission. They met only twice in December, 1963. The third meeting did not take place until the third week of January. John McCone reported to Lyndon B. Johnson on 9th January that McCloy had complained the previous day about this lack of urgency. McCloy told McCone that he feared the “trails of evidence will be lost” and that they have been interviewing witnesses soon after the assassination. In fact, the commission did not get the chance to question witnesses until nearly six months after the event. McCloy became concerned about the nature of Kennedy’s wounds. At one meeting he said: “Let’s find out about these wounds, it is just as confusing now as could be. It left my mind muddy as to what really did happen… Why did the FBI report come out with something which isn’t consistent with the autopsy.” At this stage McCloy suspected that at least two men fired at John F. Kennedy. He said he wanted to visit Dealey Plaza “to see if it is humanly possible for him (Kennedy) to have been hit in the front.” It also emerged that McCloy was highly critical of the FBI report on the assassination. He blamed it on the report being “put together very fast”. What McCloy did not know was that J. Edgar Hoover was withholding evidence from the Warren Commission. Nor was he aware of the Hoover telephone call to LBJ on 24th November, 1963, when he said: “The thing I am most concerned about… is having something issued so we can convince the public that Oswald is the real assassination.” At a meeting with J. Lee Rankin on 22nd January, 1964, McCloy was told that according to the Texas attorney general, Oswald had been an undercover agent of the FBI since September 1962. According to Rankin, his agent number was 179 and was being paid $200 a month. McCloy was also in communication with the Time-Life executive, C. D. Jackson, about the Zapruder film. Jackson sent McCloy blown-up transparencies of the film that revealed that John F. Kennedy and Connally had been hit by different bullets. McCloy also questioned Connally’s doctor at the hospital, who was also of the opinion that he had been hit by a separate bullet from Kennedy. In an interview he gave on 3rd July, 1967, McCloy said: “I think there’s one thing I would do over again. I would insist on those photographs and the X-rays having being produced before us.” During the investigation members of the Warren Commission were told by Earl Warren that the Kennedy family was blocking access to these photographs and X-rays. McCloy initially dismissed the idea of the magic bullet but he was persuaded to change his mind. So much so, when Richard Russell, Thomas Hale Boggs and John Sherman Cooper said that they had “strong doubts” about the lone gunman theory, McCloy took the side of Gerald R. Ford and Allen Dulles. In fact, McCloy played the main role in persuading the three men to sign the Warren Commission report that they did not believe in. From Spartagus education

@@shernitadee Spartacus (not "Spartagus") Education is a pile of conspiracy theories, it's hilarious. All a gang would have needed in 1963 to take out JFK as he rides through a major city in an open limo would be one marksman who can peel off a disguise, dump his gun, disappear and leave the authorities with an unsolved mystery on their hands. What on earth is the logic of instead going with some vast, sprawling, risky plot, fraught with random chance and unpredictable witnesses all over the place, dragging in more and more conspirators, committing more and more crimes, piling cover-ups atop cover-ups, when it could all go so wrong in a thousand ways and the bigger you make such a conspiracy, the more likely it's going to eventually unravel as people start losing their nerve and singing like canaries, as in Watergate. How, exactly, did they know, in advance, that they could get a bipartisan government investigation (whose members would be international heroes whose careers would be set for life if they brought Kennedy's real murderers to justice) and get them all to bend over backwards as virtual accessories to the assassination of their own President?
