If you watch Peter’s reaction to this, it will answer so many of your questions. Since this was his arrangement he goes major in depth about the song and the video shoot.

@Alyssadaniels7841, has the right of it. Peter's reaction to this is well worth the time spent watching the video, and for what it's worth, so is Peter's reaction to the Friend Like Me shoot.

@DJ 1) Peter Barber is the damn near perfect Gaston because he's a Bass Opera Singer (it's his day job). And you can hear it in this song. He purposely went Operatic for this song because Gaston is, very much, an Operatic Villain. That why, if you listen to all of Peter's sustains in this song, they all have a noticeable vibrato. That vibrato exists because he was employing Operatic Singing Techniques to "Go Opera" with his delivery. 2) Tomi P is from the Czech Republic so that is probably why his pronunciation of Gaston is pretty on point. 3) Fun Fact: When the girls come in for the high note? Yeah, they sang the note. However, the Lead Vocal for that note? It's not them. The Lead Vocal for that high note is actually Tomi singing just shy of his Whistle Register. I also believe Casper Fox lent his vocals as well. Casper is The Bass Gang's Manager and Tomi's best friend. He lives in the Czech Republic like Tomi which is why he's in all of these Disney Videos as they shot all of them in the Czech Republic (that's where they met up). Since they didn't have Marwan (he was stuck in Egypt), Casper filled in as needed for extra roles and screen composition. And since they were doing all the recordings in the Czech Republic while they were all together, they used Casper across all four Disney Songs for harmonies and high notes (his upper range is RIDICULOUS). So yeah, when you hear the super ridiculous high notes in these four songs, unless it's obvious (like Marwan's ridiculous belt in Arabian Nights), those notes are either sung by Tomi or Casper or both. Because why strain one of the Bass Gang to belt in Whisper when you have a High Tenor (borderline Soprano) ready, available, and willing?

Tomi is from the Czech Republic. This is such a delightful cover by The Bass Gang. Peter is absolutely perfect as Gaston. You may want to watch Peter's reaction to this. He gives a great deal of background information that makes the clip that much better.

Tomi P is a young 6’6” Czech deep bass with a 5+ octave range. His solo cover of “Hellfire” shows that. His cover of “My Mother Told Me” is beyond incredible. His falsetto is incredibly high tenor

Peter's experience in opera really helps him shine with the spoken lines.

Most of the extras are Czech LARPers, since they already had outfits to wear. They ordered "The King's Feast" so all that food and drink are real, and the cast and crew feasted after they were finished. I was so happy to see Andúril, glad someone noticed it as being from LOTR, the same as Peter's tattoo. I have repros of Andúril, Sting, and Glamdring hanging up on my wall. I saw in the premiere people trying to rank the videos. That's so hard, but I'd say that of the Bass Gang songs from this album, Arabian Nights was the most beautifully filmed (how can you go wrong with literally being in the Sahara Desert for that one), this was the most fun with all the comedy and extras, Be Prepared gave me the BASS SHIVERS that I crave, and Friend Like Me was my favorite overall arrangement. Although really, picking a favorite overall just isn't possible.

Peter's reaction goes into the making of the video, who all the background people were, etc. Definitely check it out when you get the chance!

You do know that it's Marwan that's inside the Lamp that's in every video. Peter is showing off his Opera chops. That low note in the background sounds like Marwan. As far as I know, it's only four songs.

Please do see Peter's reaction to this song. He talks about all the background people (they didn't speak much English)!. By the way, you're going to love "Friend Like Me".

The best Disney song sung by a sidekick, is almost certainly either Friend Like Me, or Under the Sea. Unless you count live action movies, in which case the chimney sweep song might also be a contender.

First off that was not the Cave Of Wonders from Aladin. Be Prepared is from The Lion King. This was my second favorite song from this EP they released. While I don't care for the character of Gaston in the movie this was a perfect song for them to do. It fits them perfectly and Peter was the only choice to be Gaston. Looking forward to seeing your reaction to Friend Like Me that was a fun song.

I just noticed that at the end of Tomi's part, they change the words from 'my what a guy, that Gaston' to 'I want a guy like Gaston'. I mean it's Peter so, fair, but it's an interesting change.

The spelling joke is actually present in original Broadway (not in the Disney animation) and done differently in the live action.

I love this song, it is brilliant and made me laugh and it is so well performed too! The Bass Gang are just continuing to go from strength to strength with these songs and I am swiftly becoming a fan. Thank you for a brilliant reaction that was a lot of fun too. I had many of the same thoughts you did (especially the Peter bits... *fans self* ) so thank you for making sure I wasn't the only thirsty bitch watching this video! #DJAntlers
