Tbh, he was drafted by the wrong team for his development. A Rookie like him could get much more minute somewhere else. He had ROTY potential.

In a Turkish podcast Alperen said Hakeem did the same workout he did when he was training Alpi. Hakeem is such a great athelete, he can still compete at the age of 60.

Next to Kobe, Sengun will probably end up being Dream's best student. Everything he'll teach will be soaked up because his skill and basketball IQ are both off the charts. Can't wait to see where he goes.

LeBron was also a pupil of The Dream’s. I saw a video where he had LeBron doing the same spin drills. I’ve seen him use the Dream Shake and other moves learned from Olajuwon.

@@emanon2208 Yeah and so was Dwight. The thing about Lebron is that it took him years to get everything down to the point where what he learned looked smooth. I think Sengun will soak up things much quicker. Almost as quick as Kobe.

Love to see him and a few of our other young guys grow 1-4 inches more too. But at 6'9" -6'10" I would see him at the 4 PF not 5 Center position. But I hope he keeps getting better and he earns starting role. He may be slower on defense, but he is solid and can weak side block and block often after being beaten off dribble. But the Bigs are pushing him around too much right now imo.

one thing I am excited with about Sengun is the fact that he already has amazing vision for passing a la Jokic and even a decent 3 ball. Dream had to learn with time to pass out to teammates with the double team. If he can absorb everything he learned from Dream and be just a fraction of his post game greatness, Sengun is going to be a central core piece for years to come!!

0:35 to 0:55 watch the start when they practice the spin and compare it to 3:10. Sengun's wide base tightened to a faster and more balanced spin like Hakeem demonstrated.

I'm glad you said that. It's natural to think you have to make a really wide base to take up room and stabilize, but then you're limited in further movement. Hakeem mastered the medium base that still let him maneuver. Excellent observation.

@@nickpagano7134 no he wasn't. He had better teams. You swap Dream for Kareem in those repeat championship years, Houston doesn't win those titles. Moses Malone showed how to defend Kareem with physicality. That New York front court would've punished Kareem, and Kareem wasn't the defender Dream was. The following year, Shaq would've steamrolled Kareem. The only center that "possibly" could've done what Dream did was Chamberlain and Shaq, but of course that would've been Shaq vs. Shaq. But what we'll never know is if Shaq could've defended a player like himself.

In the video I saw as a retired oldie hakeem still do the spin moves faster than Alpi😂 quickness is a talent cant be taught. But at least Alpi can improve his quickness and add new skill sets from hakeem to become better. Smart people use his own experience, smarter people use experience of others.

It’s incredible that as a teaching authority for NBA talent, there really is no great like Hakeem. If you go see him and work on your footwork, he will bring out the best version of yourself. Everything Dream did offensively was based off the jump hook to the middle. Then it was the spin to the baseline. Then it was the baseline fadeaway, which made him unstoppable. Then he added a face up jumper, crossover and drive to the post where it all started all over in the post. This made him a freaking ALIEN.

Hakeem and MJ could have played together at Houston, rumour has it that the Bulls where interested in Ralph Sampson. Besides Hakeem went to the finals first. MJ had picked Hakeem to be a teammate in his fantasy pick-up team along with Worthy, Magic and Pipp. They had mutual respect for each other.

Hakeem has shrunk a bit compared to his playing days. But the speed and fluidity of the spin move at almost 60 years old 😮 He was faster than someone half is age!
