The world first 9 second run by a VFR750 launch.

Unfortunately this is all the video available of our 9 second run. With the new air shifter fitted, we stormed into the 9's with a pretty healthy 9.838s@140.26mph effort. The box wouldn't shift cleanly between 1st and 2nd because we were still setting up the shifter but it gives us a pretty good idea of what is now achievable once it all works as it should.

Cool, i owned an old skinny wheels 86 vfr700 with an odd hybrid build to make it 750, that lasted until 160,000kms before the carb mounts broke from all the gravel roads, engine was fine so i decided to get a 90's new model and part my old one, new one has 120,000kms and no worries, still lots of life, never once had either failed to start n go. This idea of big bang vfr has intrigued me, great to see it in action supercharged!! I have cams that are from my California vfr model conversion, wondering what cams are best from stock vfr models? Asking on you tube lol

I am running the standard cams in this one. The big bang worked well on the 36 but the 24 didn't like it. Never found out why.

What cams from stock vfr models are beneficial/differing? Have a spare set from a hybrid vfr build. Could probably find the answer on the web somewhere but noone is asking the question

Unfortunately, aside from the early days when the VFR was used by the likes of Ron Haslam, Freddie Spencer and Bubba Shobert, very little development has been done on the VFR compared to inline 4s. This was the main reason I went the supercharger/nitrous route. Aside from lowering the compression, you don't have to modify the engine much for it to give good power. There may be different cams available for the RC24s if you hunt around long enough but the 36 onwards was considered more of a touring bike so power development was very sparse. The bike as it stands works well with standard cams so I see no benefit in changing them.

So my parts bike is an 86/88 vfr700/vfr750 hybrid (rc24), my current bike is a '90 rc36, the rc24 had more top end cams and the rc36 had more mid range (?). Had to look at the frames as i never need to-its a vfr, oil n other consumables n away it goes ;) I need to give it a refresh this winter(your summer) and valve clearance is one of the jobs, will look at rc24 cams and compare. Maybe thats way the rc24 dosen't like the 180' cams. I wonder how the 180' cams effect the legendary vfr reliability?

The old rc24 frame is inverted so the frame n rear swingarm lock straight, which is now a single wheel trailer for my smaller bike, the headstock makes a great pivot point, i road that bike into the ground with endless gravel roads and mud, eventually the carbs broke n everything was pretty beaten up after 160,000kms of abuse, but the engine still ran fine, was amazing, so i brought the rc36 and parted up what was left of the rc24 for storage

@@jesuschrist-alphaomega it doesn't say anywhere in the video that it is turbo'ed and it won't. The bike is supercharged and uses nitrous oxide. If you cared to look at my other videos you would have seen this. My FB page Team Flying Duck Theory also shows everything that has been done to this bike. So no, it is not bs and I also have an ACU verified timing ticket to back up my claim. I am a member of the National Sprint Association in the UK and they are very strict about the timings. If you still doubt it, I am more than happy to demonstrate how fast this bike is, all you have to do is show up at one of our 1/4 mile venues and you can see for yourself.
