Thanks for sharing Sean! I was always curious about this topic. Instead of recruiting actors for personal appearances, I’ve recruited doctors to work in different hospitals throughout the US. Dealing with strong egos and prima donnas sounds like a similarity. I appreciate what you’ve accomplished. We still need to trade Jane’s Addiction stories someday. Hope all is well brother! ✌️

I enjoyed the hell out of this episode. Full of great insights and made all the more interesting by the genuine personal and professional camaraderie between the four of you. You were all very candid, and at times blunt. I respect your willingness to tell it like it is. So many fans are ignorant of how convention bookings, prices, and the negotiation process work. Those people need to watch or listen to this episode. Knowing your background, having met you a number of times, and having interviewed you on My Haunted Head Podcast, I feel like you are an advocate for the fan experience. and pulling back the curtain a bit with an episode like this reinforces that opinion. Cheers!

This was a very insightful and entertaining conversation. It’s cool getting to hear you guys speak freely on what it’s like working at these conventions. I remember going to Motor City Comic Con in 2013, and I’ll never forget how insane it was because Norman Reedus and Stan Lee were both there. The convention was packed with fans, and I remember just getting into the parking lot took forever because of how backed up traffic was, but it was such a badass event and I’ll never forget how much fun I had. Great video as always, Sean. Keep up the amazing work. 🤘

Sean, very cool Look at the inside of the cons!!! Hearing the stories and insight was awesome! Really give kudos to the one manager who was so respectful of Shelly Duvall, saying he would never book her to protect her and her reputation. Shelly Duvall is an incredible actress, glad there are more important things than money!🙏🏽👍🎃😎

Dude, what an insightful conversation. Sean, I’ve known you for 10+ years, plus Dom when he went from fan to agent, and every show (at least in the northeast), there’s so many casual fans that are aloof to the business side and only are aware of the fan side. I can only do my part to “smarten” em up to avoid the headaches too haha. Great talk!

I really enjoyed this! As a person who goes to many conventions it’s great to know and understand the business aspect of it. When I go to these horror cons, I spend a few hundred dollars but I’m prepared because I actually like when cons post prices online so I know my budget and I can decide if I’m gonna get this person and not that person etc. when they don’t post prices I kinda go in blind and sometimes have to use social media and find out how much that person was charging at another Con.

I thank all four of you gentlemen for your hard work and honesty about what you do. As fans we don’t understand why certain celebrities aren’t at every show and this really explains it. I recently found out that Neve's price is 60 dollars and it's been 60 dollars since. So after hearing that I thought well, that would explain why she gets so many people at her table. She's smart not to raise her price. It's pretty obvious charging less draws in more people. Neve is also my favorite actress.

Would definitely be down for hearing more about the conventions world, the history, your history of how you built up your career while building up the horror con circuit, day/week/month/year in the life, etc. how’d we get from Star Trek cons to where the industry of fan interactions are now. How it’s changed with social media & tech, etc.

46:12 hah! Im glad you mentioned this. Ive been privileged to help at some of the Living Dead weekend as a friend of mine is an agent for the Night/Dawn people. I helped him at the Oct '22 Chiller Con with the Creepshow people (I saw you there Sean with Tom/Nick). I was able to drive 2 of his clients from NYC to the show, it was an honor. We get to the event and I'm sitting next to Gayleen Ross. I know she lives in NY. I asked how she got there "Oh I drove". WHAT?! I know you know her agent, the same guy who passed on Tony Moran (Chris). I was baffled that he wasn't there to help. Also a guy I haven't heard good things about. When you looked down the line, you'd think my friend the agent's clients were the stars, because they had banners, 8x10s, lots of stuff. Ken Foree and Gayleen put up their own stuff (I helped) and had like nothing on their table. Even tho they're the 'bigger' stars, since the didn't have anyone to help them, it made them look less important.
@JohnVullo

Also at the end about people helping and big fans. I must be the weirdo, since Dawn has been my favorite movie since 1996. Never went to a con till I had to help. The person I drove (who is a major name in the zombie world) at the end asked if I wanted a pic and an autograph and I still said no lol. I think helping them, talking to them, and them knowing me is much more cooler than an autograph.
