an animator came out and explained why the animation is poor. the animators literally animated scenes for the episode, so it's not like they were "lazy" as some claim, but due to the strict deadlines set by the producers they were unable to be polished and replaced with stills instead, at least for episode 2 (said animator quit after ep 2 bc he was disappointed in the producers' exploitation of their animators) so don't have too much hope, but the story is still really enjoyable regardless

I agree with Sheera. Nobody is saying the animation isn't dogshit, but somehow the final product is still enjoyable (for me at least) because they have very good VA's, sound design, direction, art style, and story, despite having almost no animation. Some anime flops don't have anything good so it's garbage, or they fail in multiple fronts and there's barely anything holding it together. Blue Lock's only problem is animation

So far, the 3rd episode was a bit more disappointing when it came to the subs. It was Isagi who figured using reflex was part of the answer. Hiori only figured out his Seeing > Thinking > Moving process and suggested Isagi "Reverse" it.

@@7daimeHokage Alright, same episode, the flash back of Garp and Kuzan when Garp barges into Kuzan's office. That whole sequence leading up to said "overrated" impact frame seemed pretty good, no? How about the ice that encases Garp as he laughs his ass off knowing he made sure his crew got to safety? Just cause I pointed out an impact frame in particular doesn't take away from my message at all. I didn't know about it till I saw it on KZbin going frame by frame. They didn't have to do that, but they did anyways, because the animators got time to cook.

is it that much worse then s1? I agree with Sheera on this one fully. Even tho there were really hype moments in season one , the story boarding aswell as the setup actually feels exactly the same. It's a lot of internal processing of the situation where it doesn't make sense for the animation to progress further. They would need to either cut out 90% of dialogue because the explanation is too slow, or write it in such a way where animation makes sense. The feeling i get is that this is truly a manga adapted as anime. Where the scenes are written for a manga panel and the speed is set for a moment in time, not to be like a sequence of action. all that to say, sht doesn't bother me one bit.

There was an interview back in July with Ryoya Arisawa, one of the producers, where he admitted the season struggled with deadlines and some episodes were delivered just right before the broadcast time. As for the actual answer, 8bit does not make only Blue Lock. Bandai Namco was already dumb in announcing the movie and S2 at the same time, but multiple of Blue Lock's main staff members were scattered across other projects as well in the meantime. Tensura, Mahouka, Slime... It's a mess.
