I just saw your video, and decided to do a speedrun(i own a new 3ds, and i main minecraft new 3ds) but have never speedran it. I got 4th place on the leader board for my first day of speedrunning it! I am very happy, and continue to keep going

I’ve been watching Genspace’s minecraft 3DS series for a little while now, and I always thought it was so cool that someone else was actually playing Minecraft 3DS, I got my copy at a Walmart back when it first came out in retail, and I’ve been playing it ever since. It’s my personal favorite because surprisingly it was my first personal copy of Minecraft that wasn’t just one at a cousins or friends house. I was shocked to find out there was a community for it, I’m glad this version is getting more recognition than it did at launch!!

I think the reason why some people really like this version, is because of the cult following the Nintendo 3DS itself has nowadays. It's a console that many people have strong nostalgia and appreciation for it, they may have grown up with the New 3DS version. Or they just find neat how they managed to port Minecraft to a console like it :]

I couldn't even beat the 3DS version. My game got to where it ran too slowly and i couldn't control it as well as I'd like. It was cute and novel, but ultimately not too fun or worth it.

Favorite game to speedrun is P.T. I bought an used PS4 back in the day that had it on it (while the game was still on PSN, so I was able to add it to my library.) I transferred P.T. to a Slim model and then PS4 Pro. That game still looks and plays so amazing on PS4 Pro in 4K. I've never posted anything as a speedrun, though I have several dozen livestreams of it on my channel. I think my fastest time is like 13.5 minutes, idk. I remember being within less than 1 minute of WR at one time.

My fastest run of Minecraft took me around 10 years. Been playing Java since 1.2 and I didn't kill the Ender Dragon until some time this year (2024). I finally went to the End and completed the game because I wanted to try out the Elytra and get access to Shulker boxes.

On a perspective of how small this community is, about half the world are gamers, about 90% know what minecraft is then of that smaller portion they would have to own a 3DS, then own a copy of mc 3ds and finally they would have to be into speed running meaning it’s on average 0.0001% of the population in this community lol

fun fact: this game can run perfectly fine on older 3DS models if you have the Stick Pro and FBI to force open the game

the reason you need FBi is because the game will not pass the built in checks if you try running normally but using FBI you can get the 3Ds to skip the checks which makes minecraft be like : “Yep, this is a New 3DS!”

this is not even a little bit true lol. the game is physically hardcoded to not be able to run on the old 3ds. and yes, we have tried many times before. (also underclocking a new 3ds to the same performance as the old 3ds does not run well at all) if you have somehow found a way to make it run then please let us know, we have been trying for quite some time

Unless these speedruns were done on an actual New 3DS, I refuse to recognize them. You can mod a New 3DS to have A/V out and capture that way or have a camera on the system as you play, but if you're emulating it on PC, it shouldn't count. You MUST be made to contend with the old laptop style c-stick thing on the New 3DS models. Otherwise it is cheating.
