@@cakeboy7782 because of the designs, uh- everything about it to me is great! and people are saying the jaegers don't have enough "weight" to them. that's because their tech is more advanced than part 1.And besides, they are still moving heavily and slow. I also like the soundtracks. They are pretty good.

The world building was done in the first one so they didn't need repeat that formula which was fine by me. All they needed to do was to catch us up in that world, a decade later. The most important thing to me in Uprising was that the story was good, the characters believable and that they told the story in their own way. That said, Steven S. DeKnight, John Boyega (and Caillee Spaeny) Dan Mindel and the rest of the co. delivered on those three counts. "Pacific Rim: Uprising" had its own signature in action set pieces that were amazing and very differently choreographed than those of the original. Kudos to the creative team and Steven S. DeKnight. Bring it on -- "Pacific Rim 3"!

Ruined the franchise, the first one is one of my all time favourite movies. The second movie however I hate, it takes the heart and soul of the first one and stomps on it. It’s just a jumbled mess of cringe.

lildeadfalcon too be fair, it shows a level of optimism as the vibrant colors and feel is to show the world has moved on from the kaiju wars and is building itself to a better future.

Personally, I enjoyed the movie. No, it wasn't like the first pacific rim (Which I adore) but it was entertaining, and I commend it for trying to find a way to bring back the Kaiju threat that wasn't simply, "Oh no the rift opened up again!" Yes, the film had many flaws, character development, story issues, but so did the original. I respect your opinion, but I have to disagree with it ruining the franchise, as its the film that gave the series a chance to bounce back.
