Yeah, this is... definitely the zeitgeist I feel. Great work. Currently going through a period of "I can't deal anymore" and withdrawn into my shell, so this song is definitely consoling. Reminds me that I'm not the only one. We're constantly plugged into the state of the world, and that state is only looking bleaker every year. Future prospects are slim to none, crises are everywhere. For your own sake, you have to forget that the world is on fire from time to time, or you'll go crazy.

It's a paradox, really. We're constantly aware of the state of the world, we can watch the great ship RMS Human Civilization sinking almost in real time, and yet we are powerless to do anything to stop or even slow the flooding, and that powelessness results in despair. The only thing we can do it seems (other than the unspeakable) is bury our heads in the sand and try to keep that serotonin and dopamine flowing through personal action and entertainment.

If you're ever on the fence about releasing a song because it is different than what you usually put out, maybe you can just make a separate album for them or do like Celldweller and Blue Stahli do and make a second band (or label) with some different....themes, or styles. They may not fit in with the usual offerings but that doesn't mean they shouldn't see the light of day!
