Short version: Chased a woman to Italy. Almost got rich selling trinkets. Almost went broke selling trinkets. Englishman who barely spoke Italian, convinces Italian man to let him teach him English. Turns out to be the founder of Ferretti Yachts. Amazing story. Truly inspiring!

The old adage, "Nothing happens in business until somebody sells something." I used to be a little afraid of trying to sell things until I learned that selling is simply helping people getting what they want or what they need. Selling = helping people buy. When my wife & I bought our house the salesman showed us how to buy it. When I started my own business I made it easy and enjoyable for customers to deal with us. This little biography of David Seal's is perfect. Every step of his career he was helping people.

This man was incredibly lucky to meet and get favour with Ferretti, but unlike most, he saw the opportunity, created his career and the rest is history. An amazing apprenticeship story, where hard work, talent and a bit of luck goes a very long long way! An inspiring story, and a cautionary tale which reads something like, ‘don’t wait for things to happen, just make them happen!’

What is it about ships/yachts/boats that attract so much fascination. I applied to the shipyard when I was 13 years old, laughed at gently and encouraged. I left school at 15 and started in the shipyard 2 months later. Went on to become top student, top apprentice and eventually master shipwright. Been gone from it for years now, but still addicted. Great story, well told 👏👏👏

Interesting and inspiring story. No university teaches what you have learned from experience about the yacht industry and about life as well. They don't give you a personality at a university either. it is who you are, your personality: your charisma, your passion for what do and your faith in yourself what has made you successful in this business (and in life: you married the woman you loved / love, you have three children and you look very healthy and happy ... A lot more than millions of people can say ... let's give the boss up there (God) some credit, too. The fact that you were born where you were born (it looks great in the picture) and that you started practically from zero makes your story even more interesting ... Thanks for sharing! And good luck to both of you (I don't believe in luck, I should probably say good vibes to both of you and everybody who watches these videos ... 🚢

You each bring a different aspect or lens for us - David with the more sales and ownership side, Nick taking us through great walkthroughs as a mate would and you giving us the insight re what it is like to work in the industry and actually be on a Super Yacht. I think Jared's vids add value here too. Please keep working together guys - adds a richness above your own excellent channels on their own.

Ha ha David I was born 6 miles from Wolverhampton. I still live in that part of the world, although I'm a bit further down the track in North Worcestershire now. What a great story, and it just goes to show, if you put yourself out there life/the universe has a way of supporting you to progress to bigger and much better things. There is lots of much needed investment going into Wolverhampton now, and of course they do have the greatest football team in the world, in my humble opinion:-)

Excellent potted CV. Whenever i watch, read or hear peoples' biographies i always like to see the serendipity, the unbelievable luck that helped people along the way. 'I followed an Italian girl to Italy. I don't speak Italian and was asked to teach an Italian guy English. Guess who it was? 'Ole man Ferretti'. This guy's story is no exception. Tristan had the same serendipity mixed in with his CV. 'Mum and Dad decided to move to southern Spain'. They say I HAVE to get a job. I know, i'll go to the local marina. got a job washing boats'. The rest you know, if not watch Tristans bio videos.. Success stories are littered with luck being a big part. Read Richard Branson's book you'll see. (It's under 'Mike Oldfield, Tubular Bells album'). Read Bernie Ecclestones biography, that's even more unbelievable. Good luck to them and you all. My bit of luck?....i met my wife.
