great video Ted-ed like always. But there is a visual and probably a theoretical error at 01:31. Yes a severe allergic reaction from a bee sting can lead to fluid accumulation eventually. but the main severe allergic reaction's pathology in the lung is bronchoconstriction or narrowing of the airway tube which leads to respiratory distress. Yes, the allergy can also make our capillary blood vessel in the lung more leaky and fluid can accumulate there, but it will mainly accumulate in the alveoli further compromising oxygenation (pulmonary edema is the correct term). In the video, the fluid rising up from below indicates a pleural effusion not a pulmonary edema, and pleural effusion is pretty rare in a severe allergic reaction. i just wanna point it out to clear the error which probably is unintentional. Great video by the way. keep up the good work!

When I went to Brazil for the first time, I saw a huge tarantula in the middle of the road. But I thought something was strange, as it didn't move when I approached my camera to snap a pic of it. After I came back from my walk, I saw the tarantula in the same place, being dragged slowly by an absolutely massive metallic-blue wasp I immediately recognized as a tarantula hawk! This was a once in a lifetime ocurrence, I thought, and I managed to record a video of it!

@@maxine9263 There are a few possibilities. 1) Honeybees can take about an hour to die when their stinger is dislodged from their abdomens, so it may simply be that the bee died out of sight. 2) Occasionally the stinger may not penetrate deep enough, resulting in only superficial damage. 3) The bee was a queen, which lacks a barbed stinger, and thus can sting multiple times without harming herself. 4) It may be that the bee was a Bumblebee, which does not have a barbed stinger, so they can sting multiple times without harming themselves.

Ok, don't mind my comment. This is for my essay^^ 1. Bee stings. (1:19) 1:19~1:20 ( what a bee sting contains ) a sting by a bee contains a painful peptide called *melittin. 1:20 - and flesh softening enzymes that disperse the venom. 1:24 ~ 1:28 ( what may happen when stung ) may cause allergic reactions such as swelling and even lead to fluid build up in lungs. 1:39~1:40 ( why bee's die after they use their stingers. ) bee's cannot sting without leaving apart of their body behind, ( their stinger. ) which leads to death. 1:54~2:00 ( bee attacks ) After a bee dies ( uses their stinger ) they release an alarm pheromone that activates an attack in the hive. 2. Tarantula hawk wasp stings. ( 2:10 ) 2:26~2:54 ( Tarantula hawks sting against spiders. ) a sting from a tarantula hawk paralyzes a spider. ( permanently ) it lays its egg on the spider, once hatched, the lava feeds on the spider. 3. the bullet ant sting. ( 3:05 ) 3:15~3:18 ( how long the pain of a bullet ant sting lasts ) the bullet ants sting lasts about 12 or more hours. 3:22~3:29 ( why the pain lasts long ) neurotoxic peptide called poneratoxin is what makes the pain last so long. 3:31~3:42 ( what poneratoxin can do to you. ) the fact that it lasts so long may be why it seems like the worst, but in addition, but the poneratoxin can also induce trembling, cold sweats, nausea, vomiting, and even an abnormal heartbeat. So, you may ask. What sting is the most painful? The answer is the bullet ant sting, with the tarantula hawk in second, and the bee sting in last place!
