I love those half crank starts, my Ej22 does that sometimes when its warm as well. It just wants to turn on so easy!

I love my 97 brighton! I bought it at 97k miles and drove it back home across the country. Now it’s at 103k and going strong. the ej22 is such a little champ, i’ve been tossing the idea of boosting it but we’ll see. I’ve always got a smile on my face whenever i start it and it only needs half a crank to get the engine going

Glad this engine turned you on to the subarus! I just love working on my 96 outback, almost everything is just so easy and cheap to fix! One of my life goals is to get mine to 1,000,000 miles and roll my odometer back to 0

Very nice EJ22 I have one in my 96 Impreza LX there great little engines mine has been through hell and back my little Impreza iv taken to the sand dunes and it out performs quads,take it to the forest and it will out rally anything out there,take it to the mud and that awd system will beat ANY jeep iv even taken her off jumps too😂 got all 4 wheels a at least a foot up then came crashing down😂 car still runs like a TOP and also very easy and cheap to work on….thought my subie was toast…turns out the transmission fluid pan was the culprit😂 she’s all fixed now and runs better than ever gotta love Subaru👍🏻

Ej22 is probably the best engine they've ever made! They very RARELY have the issues of the ej20 or ej25.
