Actually, that's the problem with boards like this though. The less they are capable of breaking and the more of a 100% rebound you get on impact, the higher the chance _your_ bones will break, instead of the skateboard. A hybrid skateboard makes _some_ sense in context of durability, but a 100% carbon one really does not make sense at all. It changes the physics involved and can actually be very dangerous. Not to mention how these boards are insanely overpriced. I'm not trying to hate on their efforts, but Lithe skateboards aren't it.

@@PHeMoX that's a strange way of thinking dudes, I don't think it works that way, using the same argument let's say there's 7 layered MDF board-shaped deck, it breaks easier than you skate on it and drop down 10 floors like jaws usually do, it will breaks absorbing some the impact and release another into your body, I bet you will break your bones. The less they are capable of breaking doesn't translate into the higher chance of our bones breaking. flexibility, damping factors, and lots of variables should be put into account.

The loss of pop comes from the board aging and attaining moisture etc. But I do also think its affected by the tail since the thickness has been reduced on the point of contact means there is less force pushing the board up that moment you pop.

The flexibility of the thinner edge of a razor-tail board absolutely results in less pop. At the moment of contact, the thin edge hits the ground and inelastically deforms. This transfers most of the energy to bending the thin edge instead of moving it up.

Uhm, wrong. The pop of a skateboard doesn't come from whatever the edge of a tail or nose is like in terms of thickness. The pop comes from the overall stiffness of the board and the way the board is able to flex and rebound. The board being a few mm shorter has pretty much no impact on pop when a deck is still fresh / new. Ironically, boards like the Powell Flight decks pretty much never lose their pop, which is due to the material of the board, not something related to razor tails. In fact, one of my Flight decks had insane razor tail and _still_ had a crazy pop. Still extremely skateable. With the way physics work, you can't 'bend' the outer edge of a tail or nose. The physics stay the same.

The guy stopped and the board stopped under his front tyre, he started thinking it had gone all the way under and broke the nose clean off at the bend. The engineering that goes into boards like this is impressive but they never end up lasting long enough to be worth the extra price, if they can mass produce them for cheap enough though that would be awesome. I looked them up a little while ago and were only like 400$ ish I thought to myself that's roughly the average Price for a decent surfboard. Considering the amount of stress a skateboard undergoes I feel like this would be a great investment for any skater because it ain't gonna ever break on you so it's not like you going to have to buy another deck probably ever lol

@@brailleskateboarding i will! The last five days alone i spent 30+ hours learning how to use a bowl, how to ollie + pop shove it (landed it quite a few times but i got too cocky so i fell and bruised my knee real bad. Might be cause i am broke like a true skater and cant afford new wheels so i use/used my old longboard slicks which actually is harder but made me 10x better with slims. What makes me happy for eternity is that a older quite professional skateboarder saw me struggling with my wheels and was more than happy to sell my one of his used boards that he didnt really use for 10$ so i'll turn my life over and start working to never be too broke for being safe). i watched alot of your guys content on the S.K.A.T.E.-series to get inspiration and to remind myself that if i fall it wont hurt too bad...i hope. The next thing on the list is the feeble 270 drop in that Nigel did in the drop in only challenge. Keep doing what you are and keep inspiring new skaters (or revive the old-school skate style with the Braille Skateboarding twist to make it interesting again). I'll keep y'all posted when i get the feeble right :D

That's insane 🤯😱. I doubt that the green rim could be made out of strong acrylic or fiber glass like they use for ice hockey boards on the outside of the rink. Reason why I say ice hockey rink barrier boards because that has a strong & stable bounce whenever a player is knocked into the boards

Ordered mine on May 4th 2021, a standard 8.25”. Still haven’t been delivered. Those guys are having “enormous” delay and backlog issues. And to this day, I am not sure if I am ever gonna see that deck delivered ever (meanwhile, I am not even skating 8.25 anymore, moved up a quarter). $240 (shipping cost to Europe included) “immobilized” for over a year… This maybe is the real deal, definitely looks like the strongest thing out there. BUT please, at least, inform your viewers what a horrible customer experience it is to order one of these decks and the delay they are about to face if they do order. Cheers.

All of the Slate 3 on our website have been listed a pre-order, we never had them in stock. The delays are coming to an end. The decks were originally going to produced in China. After COVID hit we faced nonstop delays from the manufacturer. At the beginning of the year we began making our own small factory in LA to transition back to USA. Our Los Angeles factory just got completed. The decks we took to Braille are the first USA made Slate 3's. We estimate all pre-orders should be delivered within 2 months.

If you want a durable, waterproof, composite board, look into Capsule Skateboards. They are produced in Cyprus and definitely ship sooner. I got mine about one month after ordering earlier this year. While the thought of an indestructible skateboard may be appealing to some I think I can speak on behalf of my old skater buddies when I say that, wearing out a deck is like a badge of honor, and some of us kept those badges in a stack in our closets and garages. And looking forward to a new graphic helped keep the sting out of breaking an old deck. These "unbreakable" Boards are 'neat' and I'm sure they work great, but I prefer something with more soul and character behind it. Having old decks around is kind of like having a photo album of memories to look back on. Or maybe I'm old school, or just plain old (43).

I really want to get another board even if its just to push around the neighborhood, and those Anderson decks are pretty sweet. They are rubbish, I had 2x decks from Lithe, each cost me 200 dollars each plus shipping to UK plus vat and duty. Overall, both of them snapped on the tail after just a couple of days. I am sorry but powell peralta flight decks are way stronger and actually cheaper. Recently I was riding Santa Cruz VX - although it chipped a bit, it is even cheaper than the flight deck here in the UK and also very durable. Creature Skateboards were also producing some VX technology decks and they have some sick graphics. Rosolowski brothers (the owners of Lithe) were also quite rude to me on their instagram when I pointed it out. Overall, if you want something more than regular 7 ply, go for either powell peralta flight or VX deck, you will not be disappointed. And for me, they last months.

Crazy that the weight of the car cracked the internal wood but it still stayed pretty well together and durable for a while, I'd imagine the heat from the fire probably did the most to weaken the structural integrity, and that's the most unrealistic part of the "test" in terms of real world skating. I'd love to see comparisons with regular boards in terms of size/ weight and ride feel. The trim to prevent the main damage a board takes from general use seems like it should be on every board now tbh.
