Spoiler/ I wonder if Misfortune's dad ran over her, his car is parked and theres skid marks on the same path as her dead body and its the same time we meet Morgo. The game begins on October 11 and at the end, its still October 11, so she was dead from the very start of the game and benji was just guiding her to the afterlife while Morgo keeps her playing a game of death? probably the same with Hiro as he keeps saying "where is the fog" (afterlife had fog) to rest in peace but another monster pulled him back, not letting him rest.

if you like indie games and rpg makers like this + omori... you should absolutely check out some of these games: fran bow, sally face, ib, the witchs house, mad father, wadanohara and the great blue sea, the gray garden, mogeko castle, to the moon, ao oni and misao all of these are survival rpgs and/or indie games with horror elements and cool stories, it's a lot so you got some to choose from :P they're a little on the older side but they're super good and honestly bring me a lot of nostalgia for the early days of gaming on youtube

Fun fact: the car that killed misfortune is her father's car U can see the tire marks leading to her father's car near her dead body and another fun fact the mother smiled in the end cuz she was kinda like a burden on her too so when misfortune died it was bittersweet she loved her baby but now she will not have to go through with the abuse granting her the eternal happiness which little misfortune wanted to give to her mother
