I've just realized something... Misfortune is friends with Hiro. She describes Hiro saying, "..He has a pair of *sweet boots* and a cowboy hat. *He's a ghost.* " Then when "Mr.Voice" tells Misfortune that George hung himself and that he died, she says; "But he's wearing a pair of *sweet boots!* He *can't be dead..!* " She didn't realize Hiro had to die to become a ghost, and made the connection through the boots. :(

Wait, he acknowledges the player in the game. Why? What? I…? Then what… why does he need her? And when she can hear him, he sounds surprised. Can kids usually not hear him? How does he lure them to their deaths if they can’t hear him? What if she didn’t hear him? Would he have continued talking to the player? What game would the player have played? I’m having like three crisis’ at once. How is the player important to the story? Also I love how she completely breaks Mr. Voice at several points in the game just by being too weird, like when she was examining her puke, and when she tells stories about her life, and when she asked if she should sneak up on the janitor and kill her. He’s so baffled by her and the things that happen to her. And he seems to care for her to an extent, like when he saw George was dead, and he was like “oh… Misfortune, we should go. The party’s over” and when she was reading inappropriate “poems” on the bench, like he didn’t want her to get more scarred. He wants her dead but he doesn’t want her miserable, she’s still just a kid

I love your comment I was thinking the same things. Benji says Mordo does the trick too much. What's the trick? Is it leading kids to their deaths? Also, what's the mistake mordo makes to which Misfortune can hear him? Why is she able to interact with things if she dies right outside the house? I simply thinks there's some things left unexplained by the creators so we wouldn't suspect her being dead.

New thought. If she dies in the beginning of the game, why doesn't Mordo just end his plan there why does it matter if she keeps going through with the game? She's dead so it doesn't matter if she achieves the happiness at the end of the game. She's dead. It doesn't make sense. The game shouldn't matter. Mordo achieves his goal right at the beginning of the game. Also no one ever says anything about her "ghostly" body needing to reach anywhere for Mordo's plan to work so really the game is pointless as she dies in the beginning.

Coming back to watch this again years later, the first 9 min of the video in her diary and what he says about our feelings, social media, and all that stuff is so true. As a person who doesn’t have a lot of social medias or use them a lot (only Instagram which I barely use and tiktok so that my friends can send me videos other than that I don’t scroll on those apps much at all), yes social media has a big impact. Everyone has it and is always posting and concerns themselves with it and if you aren’t you’re considered different and weird. When you meet someone, “do you have Instagram? Tiktok? Snap?” It’s like a necessity for socializing and it feels like you need to have a social media life. But without it you’re not able to get closer to people rarely. I just wanna chill at home and enjoy the moment without a camera in my face every single second (pictures are fine but like some people have to take a pic of everything to post to their story or something). Even without social media it still gets to you and somehow some people still get f’ed up in a way (I mean some people don’t care about all that when it makes it way to you but some really do). Social media at its core isn’t bad, but how it is now, yes I see why it’s viewed as bad and perhaps it is even though not all parts of it are bad. It helps people stay in touch, but everyone worrying about it so much is just horrible as some concern themselves with how many likes they got all too much or how many friends they have and you know what I mean. It really is hard to do what you like now I’d say, but we gotta be strong y’all ❤

Can relate to Little Misfortune feelings over being sad. Growing up in an abusive household, whether you were in the house or out in public, being sad was a big no-no. If I showed sadness at home, my dad would get angry over me being sad; no comfort to be found. Meanwhile, if I showed sadness out in public, and he heard about it, my ass was guaranteed a beating.

After watching this play through countless times I finally got the game for myself and tried making the opposite decisions that Jack made and it was so much fun. I love this game so much! And even though I knew the ending it still got me in floods of tears 😭 such a beautiful game.

You know what I noticed? Jack actually saved Misfortune by playing with the dog(and hitting the tree) instead of setting the dog free. Had she stepped underneath the branch to set the dog free, she would've been crushed. The ball actually triggering the already unstable branch and hitting Misfortune drove her away from harm. That's just my analysis and I'd love to hear yours.
