Hello everyone and welcome back to Age of Wonders 4! In his quest to reunify the facets of the World-Serpent, Kessessek has had a new revelation that demands a change in course. Even as the Great Scaled One's Chosen, it is unsafe to personally absorb all of the missing Facets; as such, the Grand Chieftain has joined hands with the Naga Queen to unify all Scalykin and ultimately the World-Serpent himself. The remaining Facets must still be claimed through conquest. After seizing the Aspect of Chaos in a bit of a bugged scenario at 1:04:43, the Chosen Lizardmen turn their gaze to the world's nuisance. Next time, it's war against Blint and all who oppose the World-Serpent's Will -- thanks for watching!

Sometime, underground adaptation can be more of a curse than a boon, even with past changes to make it more bearable. there should be less unbreakable wall, wider building area instead of small build zone that can fit just an outpost or making path at least a province wide to connect two building area with a city if possible.

They really should give another patch to the underground, cuz even with all the fixes, there is still no viability to an underground city aside from the starting one.

@@romulofriederichs5467 if only the earth shatter spell from the terramancy tome could widen those unbreakable one tile wide path to a whole buildable province (but still can't damage full province wide indestructible rock that don't have path/crack in it) would be a compromise. There not much for it but being able to do it would open so much area for underground faction while also giving a "must-have" level viability to this tome for underground races.

Yeahhh, I like the underground thematically and I think it's really cool to dip in to with the new Cave annexation mechanics, but by the dark gods it is an atrocious start. Blint has gotten absolutely shafted in the last two playthroughs with incredibly slow starts thanks to unfortunate spawns.

@@Fableheim An additional issue about underground adaptation is not only the expansion of a city past the starting area because some surface dweller may have blocked your only access to fresh air but in order to build another underground city, you have to; 1: send your scout to the surface (it will become one or two less unit to excavate around the starting base) if you can because someone may live just above you(forcing you to war if you don't want to wait 20 to 25 turn stuck doing nothing for your neighbor to become vassal if it's a free city( your run is pretty much ruined if it's a ruler city)). 2: find another access from the surface to underground (that can be further from your base than you want if it wasn't already claimed by a surface dweller), if we are forced to go above ground to make an underground city it is better to start on the surface at that point. 3: excavate the area with your scout to see if it is big enough to hide a city in it (you sometime spend 5 turn excavating just to abandon the project because either the cave is too small or someone have claimed the access from above and accidentally trap your expedition in a diplomatic dilemma). 4: finally send a hero (if not barbarian) to the location (can be intercepted by hostile forces) for the sole purpose of putting an outpost where you want (then babysitting it with an army while keeping your leader army close to the throne city because we are never sure enough about the intention of the other when not guarding the throne). 5: repeat the 4 previous step of the process with more or less success if success is a possible outcome. Underground adaption suffer from environment, the starting location of other factions and direction of provincial expansion of others. If only we had a diplomatic option to buy a province from someone would prevent underground adaptation from having to declare war to someone for territory out of necessity (they are the only one like this (no wonders why Blint is so aggressive)). I think the only viable build that would work for underground adaptation would be chosen destroyer and scion of evil by extension (I wonder why reaver can't have scion of evil society trait), not to make an OP build but to fix an issue with an underwhelming trait. The main benefit I could find in underground adaptation would be either stealth or (and mostly) defense and maybe multi-front harassment If you unlock teleporter (which is a must-have with this adaptation because of how far from each other your city can be. PS: sorry for all those words but when in the topic of underground adaptation, I though i could give my experiences when playing with the first custom faction I created that I didn't played with for a little while while playing with my little brother that I recently bought the game to (whom is a neophyte in the 4X type of game) to teach him the base of the game in a extra large map in a 1v1( he started above me, he had access to the whole above surface while I had one cave worth of space.

@@jeffroymael6969 No worries, I agree with your concerns about the Underground. I think the only way to make it feel as good as above ground Empires would be to allow the breaking of Bedrock, make the underground resource nodes more impactful than above ground, hard-code it so no one can spawn above you to guarantee early exit, and/or some combination of the aforementioned. Being able to purchase/trade provinces with others is just one of the many expansions that I'd like to see to diplomacy. As to answer your curiosity, Reavers cannot be Scions of Evil because they do not have access to shock or shield units just like Mystics cannot be Fabled Hunters because they do not have archer units. I personally don't think that's any reason to disable the Society Traits, but it is what it is. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It's kind of fitting that the dwarves used earthshatter on the lizardmen. They got revenge for what the lizardmen did to the old world and the Karaz-Ankor during the sundering and war of chaos. It's kind of their fault for dividing the dawi and the Dawi-zharr... they didn't mean to, but its sort of is.

Love that you get to employ Twisted Fate action. :) Also, I will say that the silence items are better than you give them credit for: it's basically a 100% stun chance against support and battlemage units (except they can still move), and it also works on caster heroes/heroes with support abilities. It's pretty good (fighting a Shrine of Smiting or Reaper? No problem!). Enjoying Primal content so far!

the david bowie pronunciation is correct! it’s a french derived word from the verb “to forget” for… ominously obvious reasons….
