"...the world was so easy" Original Unedited Snippet (Mystery clip starts at

This snippet is a glimpse into a 4-hour-long family home video capturing my early years, the very VHS that contains the "world was so easy" clip (which begins at 1:14). In response to numerous requests, I've decided to share the minutes leading up to and following the "world was so easy" clip.
In this upload, you'll witness the minute preceding the clip and what unfolds on the tape afterward. The footage returns to a scene of me lying on a bed, followed by a segment identified as part of the 1996 Scot Tournament of Hearts. After that, it cuts back to pure family home videos, uninterrupted until the end of the tape.
I want to mention that my brother was the one holding the camera in the first video clip. You can hear him saying, "Say bye-bye to the camera," and then my mom in the background saying, "Why is this wet? He pissed on-" before getting interrupted by the mystery video clip.
While I can't pinpoint the exact date of the original video that was recorded over, it likely falls between December 1993 and January 1994, considering I was born in December 1993 and appear to be a small baby in the video footage. The video of the Scott Tournament of Hearts was recorded on February 20, 1996, and New Country Network (NCN) operated from January 1, 1995, to October 31, 1996. This implies that the "world was so easy" clip was recorded approximately two years after the original video it replaced.

Hahaha that wasn't my intention at all and I'm sorry if I freaked you out. I just wanted to post this to show the context in which I always saw/heard this mystery song. A few people didn't believe me that this is all I have of this song, but I'm afraid to say that this is definitely all I have. I wish I had more. But even more than that, I wish I had the original video that got taped over. That's nearly 4-5 minutes of home video footage that's lost forever. But it's given me this exciting mystery and I'm glad that my search for this song has finally picked up after actively searching online for nearly 3 years.

Hey, do you have the original MPEG/DV or whichever encoder you used at source? I feel like you can clean the image a bit for the snippet, but only with the source file, which hopefully isn't extremely compressed. Maybe you can cut it out LOSSLESSLY and upload it somewhere? edit: Ok, I've read that the source file is 1080p. Do you have a VCR-DVD* combo, or a DV camcorder by any chance? If you could capture through those, and ran through some programs, the quality would be SO much better. Some, if not all DV camcorders have built in TBC, which will "un-shake" this video as well. *For VCR-DVD capture process I'd recommend putting the tape in the VCR which is of better quality and hook it up to the combo via S-video or composite. Some combos are of very poor quality, but can record to dvd pretty well, though most likely they won't have a TBC (image stabilizer).

I could try the Mini DV method. The source file isn't 1080p though. It was upscaled to 1080p from an RCA video cable. I have a VCR/DVD combo but the S-Video only works for the DVD player. But I could see if it improves the quality from the original tape. Mind you, the original tape has mold now so the video quality may have gotten worse.

The song snippet probably was in full on the tape. The timestamp on the recording before is 1:45 then after the song snippet its 1:44 so the home video might've actually recorded over the song. (Also, I am NineOfSteel)

That's because of the differing recording speeds both videos were shot with. The original home video footage was shot in EP mode and the TV footage was shot in SP mode meaning that it used a longer length of tape to record the TV footage. The TV footage was shot in 1996 and the original video was shot in 1994.

The entire tape is of me. My mom had this VHS camcorder and had a tape of videos of me. I used to like watching it when I was small. I would've been 2 at the time this was recorded. The tape was in the VCR and somebody accidentally pushed the record button. the baby isn't overlaid on the video, it's the other way around because that video is older. Read the description please.

I'm not sure. Look for videos of cbc playground from 1994. It was the only national channel broadcast on the rez in those days. Now, they just have the local TV station on the air after Canada started getting rid of analog TV. Also, it was sesame street, not Barney.

Look up the music video for "I'm Stronger" by Diane Raeside. There's a video that has the same aspect ratio and the same logo in the corner as this video. HD was a blooming format during the 90s and I believe that the unknown music video was either shot on film or with a high end television camera from the 90s.
