I just saw your Uki folding buck saw yesterday at Gear Trade (Okotoks, AB). What an interesting and thoughtful design. I've used handsaws for a lifetime... home, military, camping, etc. While a have an Agawa 21" folding saw and a Corona Tools 10-Inch RazorTOOTH folding saw. I really like your saw AND your story. I'll consider it!!! Well done!

Thanks, glad you like it. The gang over at Geartrade is awesome. I have an Agawa saw aswell, great product and a great group of guys too. The Uki is a different beast though, built for traveling fast and light. I think you'll like it.

Hey just came across your channel/business and can't believe I've never heard of you before as I'm very well versed with the ultralight backpacking/prepper community on KZbin. Very impressed with your gear. Just curious however, if it would be possible to add a spring assist to the saw to lock it open and closed similar to the agawa canyon boreal saw? And as someone that has relied on bahco laplanders and silky pocket boys for all of my bugout/camping saws, does this hold up in strength? Also, as small and compact as this saw is, would there be any way of shrinking the skeleton down a little thinner to closer reflect that of the agawa without sacrificing the strength and integrity of the spine? Many Thanks.

Glad you found me 😀 The Agawa and Silky are great saws. I own several versions, both for car and canoe camping when I am not covering large distances. But they are extremely heavy and large - different beast altogether compared to the Uki which is a fraction of their weight, size, and highly focused on engineering efficiency of the material. I am also working on a custom Silky Gomboy which will end up being half the weight from their stock versions. It's tough to compare durability as well, the Agawa and Silky are indestructible while mine is designed at the limit of material strengths. I'm not updating the design right now, but improvements will be made over the lifespan of the saw. If you are on the fence about which one to get, think of the Agawa as a mini-van and the Uki as a sports car 😀

@@Suluk46 thx for the reply. I had no idea you were working on a silky handle as well. As if I wasn't excited enough as it is for this. Will this handle be compatible with the outback gomboy or the regular? I might end up having to completely rebuild my entire gear set if you keep this up.
