This video is an excellent presentation of the XP- 82 twin Mustang warbird by its owner/restorer Tom Riley, who revealed it at the Oshkosh EAA airshow with its first after restoration pilot, Ray Fowler.

Tom Reilly is an amazing person. I met him in 1993 in Kissimmee. He was rebuilding a B-17 and a B-25. He helped our missionary company get our DC-3 running. He is a living aviation historian. I wish I had an extra 10,000,000 dollars to buy it.

@Av8or729 күн бұрын
@ no, I was a part of Missionair. We had a wright 1820 powered DC-3 the same engine as on the B-17. Ours was parked at Tom’s museum, when the hurricane hit the museum. It bent a wing, but they got it flying again.

You think you want an airplane, until you actually own an airplane... I own three... and realize, how much space they take up, and how often then don't fly... (like, in most cases, 0 percent of the time). So all you have is this gigantic airplane object taking up space in your shop doing nothing but getting in your way, taking up space, and reminding you this thing will never fly... and even if it did, you don't have the energy or care any more to do the massive amount of effort to drag it out to an airport, set it up, check everything, fly it, and then trailer it back home. All for what. A few minutes of ter ror.
