I liked this video. I have a 1973 Mercedes 450SE and a 1986 Mercedes 560 SL. I drive them in the summer. Everytime , I go for a drive, I enjoy it. Like you, they both talk to me. I take it easy on them, and regulatory maintain the fluids.

My wife had a 71 when we got together. Light blue and she put Porshe chrome wheels on it. When she got it, it was 10 years old. She dailed it for another 10 years. It was getting tired, so I rebuilt the mechanicals , and put an 1835 cc kit on it. Ran real strong, and still looked new. Not long after, she was involved in a chain reaction crash. No structural damage...just sheet metal crunched on both ends. She wanted a car with AC. So we bought a new Camaro in 86. Took the bug apart and made it into a Baja Bug. I still drive it as a cool "runnin around " car. Love it!!

I recently picked up an '86 4x4 XtraCab, and all of a sudden it has started stalling on cold starts and often when I slow down to stops. This is my first carbureted engine I've had. When it does decide to idle it feels like there is a little bit of a surging happening. I've sprayed some carb cleaner for a cursory vacuum leak test and noticed nothing. I adjusted the AC Throttle screw and that seemed to help a little. Adjusting the Idle Speed screw had little effect and didn't really fix the problem. Anyone have a clue what may be the issue?

I love my 1980 450 SL English Red tan interior only 48,068 ORIGINAL MILES 🥰 It belonged to my Great Grandmother and it pretty much lived in the garage. Passed down to my mother and again it lived in the garage lol. Mom and dad moving out of state and offered the SL to me and it’s been living in my garage ever since. It was great grandmothers request that the SL always parked in a garage. Thank You Great Grandma and Mom. Till we meet again Fly high and enjoy our crazy lives from a safe distance 😂 RIP Bye

i'm always curious about mufflers myself. any stock sportbike (600cc) is a work of art on the inside. you need to support your muffler with some flexibility (decoupled) so it can grow as it gets hot. ridgidly mounted exhaust systems alway break! especially on 2 strokes! keep up the good work Keegan; no doubt you'll own your own shop one day. you're smart! thanks again for the toyota o2 sensor gasket hack- brilliant!

I had the exact car when I was in my twenties. It was a blast to drive, and I miss it immensely! The odometer stopped working at 125,000 miles, and I drove it for 8 years after that. It probably had 300,000 miles on it. I would still have it if some idiot didn’t hit me and total it. I bought a 87 GLI next, which was fantastic too! Unfortunately, VW started making garbage cars in the early to mid 90’s. I never bought another VW after that. I had 3 friends who were VW certified mechanics, and they told me about all of the issues with 90’s VW’s. I would love to buy a newer VR6, but I still hear about a lot of issues with them.

I did the initial test flights on a Lancair 235 with an 0-320 conversion. That upgrade turned a somewhat doggy takeoff performance airplane into a super efficient, fun to fly rocket! The 360 being a little larger on the inside would make an ideal cross country cruiser. Beautiful, nice flying airplanes.
@SirDrifto3 күн бұрын
That's very cool. How did you like the airframe compared to others?
@spikerK013 күн бұрын
The 235 is a little tight with two 200 pounders in it, but it’s doable. With VGs under the stab it has decent elevator authority and it’s predictable and not too wild in stall break. Flies nice.

I used to have a 1967 250S, same color ivory/creme. A daily driver and always got appreciative looks and questions. Tons of glass area and you can actually see around the the B and C pillars rather well. The rear mirror really could be larger. If you are not a purist and don't need the sunshades add a Wink mirror and you will be amazed at your new rear view - absolutely stunningly broad view angle for safer day and night driving! And, yes - the doors really do sound and feel cool. Thanks for sharing your video

They were the most fun I've had on 4 wheels. By modern standards they are very dangerous but that's why they are fun, you need to know what you're doing. One more plus; You can drive them very easily without a clutch which is just as well as they break clutch cables.

In the mid ‘70s I was a happy owner of this exact bike, sans the numbers on the front fender and the yellow headlamp. And I don’t recall the horizontal lines through the logo on the tank or the ignition switch on the headlamp. Was a wonderful bike, never felt that it lacked power. Sorry the chrome sides of this example’s tank are dented.
