Hi everyone! Wanted to clear up a couple things! I used the phrase “I’m an artist not a crafter, I can’t do crafts” crafters ARE artists! What I meant was, I am the type of artist who draws not the type of artist who makes crafts, or writes/sings songs, etc. the umbrella of an artist is so large! I just didn’t perhaps use the correct term whilst speaking/should’ve said I’m a painter/drawer/sketcher? Type of artist? I know a lot of you know exactly what I meant but some of you perhaps took it to heart I meant otherwise. I can assure you I think crafters are just as much artists as people who draw. Sometimes what I mean and what I say when speaking fast doesn’t always mean it how I mean it in my head, so yes to clarify - crafters are artists, musicians are artists, I’m the type of artist who draws not the type of artist who is good at crafts (if you watch to the end you’ll see me fail at them greatly) Secondly, YES I have got Jazzas art box on the way and will be reviewing it when it gets to me. But it doesn’t ship until the end of July :)

@Emily Cooper True, but this kit is ambiguous in the respect that it's supplies are VERY cheap and definitely beginner grade ( Edit: Wrong crappy subscription box) with a cost that could and should have included artist grade supplies. The contents of this box is not even close to its $40 price tag. Also, why did they put pretty pastel clay creations on the outside of the box, but not provide the colors of clay to recreate them? I'm not saying the box is a terrible idea, but is poorly curated and the price is ridiculous, ESPECIALLY if it's marketed for children.

So, if memory serves from when I used to work at Michael's (in New York, for New York prices) : the model magic looks like the same amount as in the normal retail package, which they sell for 5 dollars. So, that would be 25 dollars. The paints sold for 3 dollars each, so 12 dollars. Patterned cardstock was 50 cents, those crappy Crayola brushes were like 3 dollars for 2, so call it 1.50, and the wood blank, especially that thin, would be like 4 dollars, and the clockwork kits were like 6 dollars. That's around 50 dollars, but Noone who shops in Michael's more than casually does so without coupons and/or bumming the employee discount, so you'd never pay that much. Also, off hand, you could also go to the same store and spend 40 dollars on the following: a 5 pack of 16x20 canvases ($20), a 25 pack of assorted brushes ($5), a 5 set of assorted pallets ($5), and a 16 pack of assorted acrylic bottle paints ($8). Its why I always tended to just get customers to just buy normal art supplies when they wanted to get their kid stuff, but brand names sell.

Definitely not worth what they're asking for, I would see maybe 20 or 25 dollars. I feel like it's very kid oriented so for them to charge 40 dollars is a little silly. As far as the paint brushes they don't really have good quality brushes at all from what I can recall but I think they could do different levels for products. So they could do a lower price point for the cheaper supplies and maybe a little higher for their premium supplies.

I mean, kids would be excited to get it in the mail and all, but parents would know it's not a good value. What would be better is if parents created their own art & craft project boxes once a month for their kids to "unbox" and get creating. Busy moms and all that, so maybe just do it every other month. At least until a better option is developed.

There was a water brush, muted watercolours with a graphite tone, 6 sheets of watercolour paper (I’m talking really good quality, 140lb / 300gsm, cold pressed) and a graphite colour watercolour pencil (the challenge this month was to do with watercolour obviously). And for less that half of the price for this. Wholly worth it.

Hi Chloe, I saw that video where did that painting. It is a beautiful painting. I thought that it was so wrong for having you all standing in the pool for so many hours in the cold, then pour cold water on you too. But it did look like fun for most the part. As for this box, I would not get this for children, not for the price and the supplies that you get. Like you shown from Walmart that you can get the whole set of paint and clay for way less. Plus the clock supplies were so cheap, even the one side of the was so messed up. They have to lower their prices down to $25.00

Sorry if someone else mentioned it, but the rubber bit you put on the front of the clock is actually for the back between the wood and the box!

Hmmm the best paint brush ever ... 😂😂 I would not spend 40 USD for this kit. For the same price, I can get quality art supplies. Great video Chloe ❤️❤️❤️

Loved the video! I think you did great with the crafts. The clock is very pretty. Numbering/lettering is hard. Perhaps Crayola should include some nice number stickers. I can’t see children having an easy time of painting numbers on even with a good brush. I feel that box IS too pricey. Way too pricey! I wouldn’t order that for my kids. I’d rather put a kit together myself, buying individual supplies at a better price. I bet you could find instructions, for whatever craft you’d like to put together, online and print them out, too. Looking forward to seeing your review of the Jazza box. Thanks for the precious moments of happiness.Take care! 😊💖

The Battery holder thing you spoke about is actually a clock mechanism, so with the hands and wood piece the total price would be over $10.00 upto $15:00, depending on the mechanism brand and quality. But I agree the set overall, seems excessive in cost. Thanks for sharing. Regards Liz

that is way overpriced for what you are getting considering you could go to walmart or even a doller store and get a lot of craft supplies to keep kids entertained for a long time for that money

If you want to make a clock. Take an old vinyl record, sand it of with sand paper. Paint what you want on it. Get that clock mechanism and just insert it into the hole thats already dead centre on a record anyway. It actually a very fun project for teens/preteens. You need to measure exactly the 4 quarters. But other than that, you can go mad with your designs.
