One of the most common habits we come across when helping athletes with their back tucks is the habit of throwing their head back and not keep their chin down.
In this video we cover a few drills that can help with correcting this bad habit.

As someone learning tumbling as an adult, it's easy to get frustrated and feel like no progress is being made, so it's encouraging to see how much work and focus you guys put into improving your form.

Learning from scratch as an adult is especially difficult, also because of larger weight and height, and it's so hard to find patient (and strong enough) spotters. Those guys however are tumbling since they were small kids, I imagine.

I’m a gymnastics coach and whenever my kids throw their head, I make them bite their shirt or leotard to keep their head more neutral. Most of the kids don’t even know they’re doing it so it helps them realize that if their shirt leaves their mouth, they threw their head.

@@big_tasty4777 Try the shirt thing. Works wonders. Plus if you keep your core tight, your body is less likely to flop around

Serious hahaha yeah you have to be careful you don't land on it and roll an ankle as well!

I have this problem with my backhand springs, but I have made them better.

Yeah it's an extremely common problem and gets harder to break the longer you leave it :( lucky you have already improved it so that you don't get stuck with the habit!

I love this video. As a coach and tumbler the biggest issue I face is trying to get my athletes not to throw their heads. I use all of these drills and they are so helpful! My question is though I have a athlete who has great height on the tumble track, air track, and has excellent height on doing the block jumps to back. The issue I face with her is as soon as we get onto the spring floor is there is no height unless I give her a bump. Please help with a drill or two of how I can help fix this issue. She has collegiate tryouts coming soon and wants to have that before! Thank you guys and keep up the good work! If I was totally in Australia I would swing by for a tumbling session and definitely some partner stunt sessions. I love watching the talent y’all have!

My first competition is tomorrow and i have a standing tuck. I have a really bad habit of going into my heels and throwing my head back any tips on that and to not freak out when i go perform?

Hi man I r eally like your work, your content is very good and useful continue like that, I have been in cheer for like 6 months and now I can do variarity of things hope someday I can train with you and I can talk to you for some progress and make some content I want to have an Instagram of some good stuff I will be working on that and thanx for that knowledge I hope your channel grow a lot
