I watched that Bills-Oilers comeback on NBC when it happened live. I was a kid and back then I always watched the whole game, even if it was a rout, so I didn't even think about quitting on watching it. And then the Bills just fired back so efficiently that the ridiculous comeback almost seemed reasonable. I also remember Bob Costas and the NBC studio crew openly apologizing to the Bills in the post-game for declaring at halftime that their game was over. It was all something surreal.

I saw the game too. I was a sophomore in college at the time, and it was a game that had to be seen to be believed. It was just so unreal, as most of us (not just NBC) thought Houston had won it by halftime only to have Buffalo pick them apart in the second half.

I think the greatest comeback/blown lead ever was in 2003. When the 2-1 and defending Champs Tampa Bay Buccaneers were up 35-14! With less than 5 minutes remaining and on there own field in a prime time Monday Night Game against the Colts. I remember it so well, the Bucs, with that Tampa 2 Defense looked so stout at the start of the season allowing a total of only 22 points in the first 3 games with a shutout in the opener. They had held Peyton Manning to only 14 points all game and were making life hell for him. At that point, with 4-5 minutes left in the game, down 35-14 against the defending champs and there #1 ranked defense my dad shut off the tv and we went to bed. Woke up the next morning and seen the Colts had won 38-35 in OT. Unbelievable stuff. Manning went on to win his 1st of 5 MVPs that season and the Buccaneers fell apart after that and have never been as good. You should make a video about it someday possible? Also, Colts coach Tony Dungy was back in Tampa Bay for first time since being let go by them after the 2001 season. So many story lines and a game that shaped the future for both franchises for years to come.

@kingkrush98876 жыл бұрын
You realize the Browns used to be one of the NFLs best teams right?
@taskdon7696 жыл бұрын
That "used to be" is...well, a different team (Baltimore Ravens), a different league (prior to merge), and a different era (54 years ago). So...I don't think the Browns is the same "Browns" according to the legend.

Task Don Still the Browns my man, still the Browns.
@mikeycarrero65016 жыл бұрын
KingKrush980 if the patriots switched cities and a new team is founded does that mean the new team has 5 championships. Moving a team and changing the name doesn't make them a different team, so those accomplishments belong to the ravens.
@kingkrush98876 жыл бұрын
Mikey Carrero nope because it’s in the Browns history, not the Ravens, I know what you mean and it’s confusing, The Ravens didn’t exist until 96 so they started with a clean slate such as any other new NFL team, the titans started a new from Houston just saying.

The other game I saw live was the Cardinals comeback against the Bucs. Lomax threw 3 TD passes and Niko Noga ran back a fumble for a TD. The game ended when Bucs kicker Donald Igwebiuke hit the crossbar on a 53 yard FG attempt. Not many people saw the game as the Cards had already announced they were moving(they just hadn't picked a city yet) and the crowd might have been 15k.
