My dad was at this game, had season tickets for 20 years. Said it will forever be the craziest game he ever went to. People left after half, he stayed and half of the stadium was full, but as they kept coming back, people came back. He said it got to the point where they let people in without presenting a ticket and didn’t care because people were climbing the stadium fence to get back in. People to this day say that there were more people in the stadium at the end of the game than the start because people came from their homes to walk in and watch.

I remember watching this game. I'm a Detroit Lions fan, so when I'm watching a game without the Lions i usually root for the underdog. I had tears in my eyes from laughing in disbelief. Watching Frank Reich erase a 35-3 deficit was just amazing. It played out like a feel good movie where the underdog team came together against insurmountable odds to win the game. I'll never forget watching this game. Thanx for the video.

Alan Grey I understand where you’re coming from, I’m a Saints fan and around that time period we’d rarely have much to be happy about so I’d keep a close eye on other teams. The Bills were one of those teams, and as a ten year old at the time of this game, they were always an exciting team to watch. I was fond of Houston too, being a fan of Warren Moon and that pass happy offense.

Alan Grey Thank you. I thought your boys were about to complete the comeback though. That was a hell of a run to get back in the game. It was a game of streaks, strangely so. We desperately need Michael Thomas and Jared Cook back on offense, and Lattimore and Jenkins our two starting corners were out as well. We can’t keep spotting teams 14 points and expect to win at all.

What an oddly specific scouting report to use on draft day: Frank Reich: Not a starter, but good for one 30-point comeback in the post-season. Can be redeemed only once.

It was a very hard time to be a football fan in Houston, because the Oilers did this, and that same year the Cowboys just 3-4 hours north of Houston won yet ANOTHER Super Bowl, and the next year they Cowboys won the Super Bowl again as the Oilers lost to the Chiefs. Back in those days, it was embarrassing for the city of Houston for this to happen. It was clear which team owned Texas, owned America, the Oilers weren't even close. Houston has a lot more going for the city today than in the 80s and 90s, so back then it was easy to develop a serious inferiority complex to Dallas with their Cowboys and that TV show that pretended Dallas was an oil town.

As a born a and bred Buffalo fan from birth, this game proved to me that, heart matters. I grew up Buffalo blue collar poor, but also as a kid who knew and understood the game. This game wasn’t even TELEVISED, as Buffalo fans weren’t sure of a win. I LISTENED to this game with my brother and Grandpa on the old school AM radio. Luckily, my Grandma’s appetizers made it through the horrible first. I KNEW we would would win. Shout out to all the others that couldn’t afford seats, but never gave up!

You and other Bill fans must’ve been crestfallen when they got hammered by Dallas a few weeks later though. To pull off an epic comeback like this here only to lose by 35 in the end by a juggernaut of a team

The first Super Bowl for the Bills was a huge upset. The Bills were supposed to crush the Giants. I don’t think anyone gave New York a shot. But then NY pulled off the improbable win... Norwood wide left.. The next three weren’t so close. Still, much respect to Buffalo

Oilers in the late 80's and early 90s were Incredible. HOF QB, 4 all pro Wide Receivers & excellent Offensive Line. Run and Shoot like Air Coryell and the Bills Run and Gun proved those offenses were too unbalanced to win it all. Only the Rams greatest show on turf could get away with it

I will never forget this game. I was 11 at the time and had to listen to it on the radio, b/c shockingly, it was not a sell-out crowd, therefore, no TV locally. A few friends of mine were there and stayed the whole way through. We shut the radio off after that interception. Out of just pure curiosity, we turned it back on later and the announcer - the great Van Miller (who I randomly met at an Auto Repair shop) - was excited and said the score was 38-35 Bills!!!! I just remember the shock on our faces when we all heard that

This game still haunts me. I was in high school in Houston, and saw this game at home. I actually fell asleep at halftime and figured, it's done, crack the champagne bottle, Oilers will go to the Superbowl soon. I awoke to my dad, screaming and cursing. It was the 4th quarter and the Bills came all the way back. The Oilers were supposed to go to the Superbowl that year, but instead moved to Nashville a few years later.
