I once had a forward interior cabin woke up in pitch darkness to this loud noise that sounded like the ship hit something and was sinking. I jump out of bed run outside where I could see the ocean as quickly as possible only to find people calmly walking past on a bright sunny day. You definitely don't want an inner cabin; make sure it's along the perimeter. A group of us went a couple years back. My girlfriend and I, our cabin was great; loved having my morning coffee on my own private deck, watching the ocean roll by. It was amazing. But one woman in our party, who joined us fairly last minute, it worked out that her room didn't even have a window. She didn't seem to mind, but it would've depressed the hell out of me. The little deck was one of the best parts. Stumbling back to your cabin at midnight, sitting out there, occassionally seeing another cruise ship in the distance. Then sitting out there again in the morning, having your coffee while your partner showers. It would've been an entirely different trip without that deck.

@mommy2libras5 ай бұрын
I'll tell you what I was told, and it's true- you can never go lower in rooms. Once you've had a window, you'll always have to have at least that. Same with balcony, suite, etc. Our first cruise was ok, we had an obstructed view picture window (which wasn't obstructed at all) but the room was pretty tiny. Second cruise, we had a balcony room. I knew the minute I walked in I could never spend a week in that tiny room again. So don't upgrade all the way unless you always want to do that and can afford it, lol.
@BeaverDunker5 ай бұрын
@@mommy2librasyeah our was an "obstructed balcony" but the only thing that was obstructed on the view was directly down because we were the first level of cabins and the covering on the lower deck was there but you had to look down to see it. Aft facing cabins are best.. you can get on your veranda and don't have heavy winds blowing at you.. but even better is certain ships have shows on aft deck... so you can sit there and enjoy the show. Unfortunately the sun came GLARING into my room early every morning, and even with the curtain closed it was so bright in the room I couldn’t sleep, so I spent the entire vacation exhausted. The next cruise I took was on the Queen Mary 2 from New York to Southampton, England. The thought of looking at nothing but ocean for 7 days didn’t thrill me, so I booked an inside cabin with no windows. Not only was it cheaper, the room was always totally dark unless I turned a light on, so I slept soundly for 8 hours every night. AFT corner is my go to every time. And usually on deck 6 at a minimum. The view is fabulous AND the corner rooms, for me, have always been a bit bigger than a middle cabin. May be a weird shape but the space makes up for it. 😁👍

The chances are not 50/50!! 😅 The bad rooms are limited to the area the pool and the dance floors take, which are not many rooms. Divide that number by the number of total rooms in the ship. That’s your probability in %.

There shouldn't be any bad cabins on a cruise ship. It should be prohibited by law. All should be quiet, comfortable, nice and beautiful. Sure, some should be more luxurious than others, but none should be bad.

I saw Titanic. I saw The Poseidon Adventure. I have ZERO interest in any cruise liner. I'll stick to cabins that are on land, stocked fully for survival of up to six months at a time with a primary and back-up generator. If I was meant to be around or in water for longer than the duration of a shower or a swim (in a well-maintained pool!) I would still have gills.

We just booked a penthouse cabin for a British Isles cruise. The balcony is so big it starts in the aft & wraps around to the side. It has 2 bathrooms, & one has a bathtub. This cruise was supposed to be to celebrate my parents 50th Anniversary in 2020, but then COVID happened. It was rescheduled 3 times, & was cancelled all 3 times. Finally we were set to go in August 2022. Sadly, my Dad passed unexpectedly in February 2022. So the trip has a different meaning now.

Bait and switch. Industry-wide, cruise lines enjoy net margins of 17%, nearly double the average of some comparably large hotel chains: Carnival: $3.2B net profit (17% margin) Royal Caribbean: $1.8B net profit (19% margin) Norwegian: $955m net profit (16% margin)

You don’t want to be on a cruise ship at all. It’s crazy how much pollution they cause. And for that you’re getting a hotel in a place that you cannot easily leave, because you are surrounded by water. It’s probably best to stay on your own continent. You’ve probably not seen all of it yet. And if you really MUST, buy an airplane ticket and compensate the CO2 emissions by helping to restore a damaged ecosystem.

Don't waste your life believing that garbage. The people spreading those lies for the most part have beach front mansions. Al Gore will fly around spreading propaganda then fly home on his private jet to a beach front property. I thought sea levels were raising and going to wash his house away?
