Shambhala's weak ending is the main reason it's not my favorite hyper. It's a nearly perfect hyper up to the point that it hits a mid-course brake run, which is actually quite near the end of the ride. Then there's a second dropping turnaround, a hill and a final rise into the brakes, and all of this looks like one last dose of Shambhala's graceful floaty awesomeness, but none of it really does anything since most of the coaster's speed is gone. It's not uncomfortable, just less interesting than the rest of the ride. You don't feel particularly cheated because the ride up to that MCBR is longer than most coasters to begin with. But if you compare it to, say, Superman: The Ride's crazy screaming finale, it just doesn't measure up.

@@Gheestarr I wonder what year he last rode I305 and whether or not the trains were full. In 2011 I would've largely agreed - I was there on a couple mostly empty weekdays and between the near-empty trains and the number magnetic trim fins, it lost a ton of speed when it hit the bunny hill. Enough to turn those them into middling floater and make the transitions a shadow of themselves. I think they were still honing in the wheel compound in '11. However my rides in 2022 were completely different w.r.t. the finale. They've reduced the number of trims about about half, and with a full train you feel them, but there was still solid ejector and those final transitions still whipped.

@@RadioMuse1 So, if you went early in the rides history (the 1st two years) Kings Dominion was upset that too many riders were blacking out. Brakes were installed or engaged to slow the first drop. They immediately re-profiled the first turn to mitigate that sensation through construction. And, then the they seemed to be slowly disengaging that brakes. Kings Dominion has always catered to an enthusiast community. And I/p305 caters to that. Did it get the attendance pull they wanted? Apparently not. But, Covid is in the mix too. After thinking about it, most coasters I've ridden have good finales, but I'll try to pick a few out: Candymonium (and for the record, Intimidator and to a lesser extent, Mako) have weaker finales, but they're still quite good compared to a lot of coasters. I305's is definitely disappointing. It's my #4 coaster but it could be even higher if that trim wasn't there. Thank goodness the one on the first drop is disabled. Then there's the "not bad except they hurt" finales like GASM, Rougarou, and Carolina Cyclone. Adventure Express is certainly anticlimactic, but it doesn't last too long and it's really funny. GateKeeper and Wild Eagle definitely come to mind. I like GateKeeper more than a lot of people but that helix does nothing. Can't complain much about extra ride time though. Gatekeeper does absolutely nothing after the mid course break run and New Texas Giant just dies off on speed. 2 big disappointing finales I can think of off the top of my head before I watch the video.

Texas giant could have made it for sure

Ummm where is magnum , all it does is meander through 2 painstakingly slow turns into the brakes

Magnum was actually my top finale lol. I consider the airtime hills the finale

The airtime hills are fun but I think the finale (like gatekeeper) is after the mid course, but some rides, like raptor have a long second half. So I guess it up to personal opinion to say what the finale is

Maxx Force at SFGAm has a crappy ending.

Was looking for this. Incredible launch into incredible inversions at speed. Inversion directly into the brakes leaves you wondering where the 2nd half of the ride went. Not in the budget, apparently. It's a great ride that would be elite if it had a 2nd half.

Green Latern sucks from start to finish. What a horrible coaster. It even looks terrible. So glad that pos was scraped

Adventure express’s ending gets better when you get everyone on the train to move their arms up and down like the statues.

Day 2 of asking your top 15 favorite roller coaster sounds (some for me are cresting the lift hill on an RMC, soaring with dragons LSM’s, B&M breaks) just general sounds or very specific. I just wanna hear your favorite coaster sounds
