I must admit I couldn't stop laughing - it's a miserable wet windy day here in the UK - tomorrow it's 90 mph winds then another storm blows in on Friday - only 80 mph winds but honestly I couldn't stop - your mates made it even funnier with their obvious caring attitude ( they were laughing more than I was ).Well Done for trying it and fulfilling your part of the bet .

@@dbqdude75ify David - I have Huskies they think cold wet windy weather is fantastic - when they want to go out it's a case of wrap yourself up and brave the weather - one good thing about the weather - not many people have wrinkles - the wind and rain smooths out your skin remarkably well .

Some growers spend their whole life growing spicey peppers, they get so used to the spice, they have to keep breeding hotter and hotter peppers to get their hot kick! lmao. And some growers just WANT to make the hottest they can lol

@@michael_177 I don't think the growers are thinking about the possible effects on some people, I have a friend who has developed a bad reaction to very hot peppers being used these days, apart from eyes watering and flushing of the face, he develops swelling of the glands in the neck, not a pleasant experience.

Oh, I know that feeling. It was a Thai restaurant. It was in the soup and looked like a green bean - until I bit it. I was sweating, I was in tears, I drank almost all the beer on the table as well as the water. I didn't really feel better until I went home and destroyed the ice cream in the freezer. I'm so sorry you had to deal with that.

You’re certainly braver than me Joel. I wouldn’t have gone anywhere near that stuff! What I do know though is that you needed several pints of milk to ease the effects rather than water. Actually, a really sweet sugary drink works best to counteract chili heat. Milk is useful to prepare the gullet and stomach beforehand.

Well done for doing the challenge and honouring the bet. This is where biochemistry is your friend. Capsaicin binds to the receptors evoking the pain response. While water is feels like it cools it down, the water is really swirling the capsaicin around, helping it to bind to more receptors, which is why the relief from water is only temporary. So in future drink plenty of milk or anything containing casein, that will actually help to counteract it, but I am guessing you won't be eating another one!

Someone in my local club had a similarly hot chilli sauce. I just touched it with my finger and put it in my mouth and it was painful. I then made the mistake of going to the toilet and my mouth wasn’t the only thing burning! Funny thing is that some people seemed to spoon it onto their hotdogs and had no effect at all! They must have had mouths made of asbestos. Hope you recover soon
