@informativt4 жыл бұрын
It's a scam. Some people are getting paid, and with the amount they are stating they can cover large parts of the production while the executives can relax without worry.
@MiuXiu4 жыл бұрын
If companies are paying for trainee’s cost of living e.g. housing, food, clothing, transportation, medical costs etc on top of lessons and everything, I can understand a debt of some kind. However, most companies that hold them accountable for crazy debt do not treat trainees well, make them work part time jobs, have shitty, even dangerous, living conditions, do not give lessons at all and if they do they do not give quality lessons, are abusive to trainees, and sadly some of the girls and young boys are manipulated into sex work if they want to stay. So the companies that do the insane debt contracts aren’t even really accruing debt from their trainees, they’re just using them to make more money and holding it against them to make more money on top of it by manipulating kids and desperate families that are tricked into signing ridiculous contracts without knowing any better. More established companies will still have a “debt” for their trainees, but they treat them better (relatively) and actually are training them to be successful, so those debts are paid off very quickly once debut time comes. It’s not cheap to house and feed a bunch of young people at once, on top of spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on a comeback, but they also have a lot of other money coming in. It’s not the debt that’s a problem, it’s the fucked up “business” men that just want to use other people to further their own “career.” There are hundreds if not thousands of these men starting “agencies” as a ruse to just make a quick buck for themselves, and don’t care who they harm along the way. Let me make clear I do not in any way think production costs for a program their agency invited them to should be put onto the participants. That shit is on the investors and is a risk producers take not knowing if it will do well or not, not participants. Other costs, yes, but not production costs for bullshit like they went through, especially when they were not told before hand. There are definitely solid agencies out there, obviously, but they are heavily outnumbered by these agencies that were created by opportunists, and it’s very sad. Edit: I want to add that these shitty opportunistic companies aren’t only in Korea. Sociopaths do these things with people wanting to get into the entertainment industry all over the world, it happens a lot in the US too. I kind of hate how it’s become almost a meme at this point that Korean idol agencies are just an assembly line that steals money from artists,, because it’s like that in the US and other countries around the world too. One example out of thousands is the Backstreet Boys and *NSYNC if any of you were alive then lol, the person that recruited all of them promised them the world, then they got extreeeemely famous. They were HUGE in the 90s and early 00s. But the dickhead ran away with all of their money and left most of them in the dust. And they were all so young that they didn’t understand for a long time that they should have been making millions when they were making hundreds, they realized too late, and now the criminal that fucked them over is long gone. Some of them are fortunate enough to have stayed in the spotlight to continue their career, but most of them are no-names now, all because some piece of shit saw a way to make money only for himself and didn’t care about screwing over people’s lives. That’s just one example of how Korea isn’t some horrible place that is the only place where this happens. The US/worldwide pop industry is all heavily manufactured as well and is an easy money maker, ripe for sociopaths to take advantage of people.
@DGraze4 жыл бұрын
it's understandable, for a company to has this kind of debt. but to make the member has it debt, is kinda big scam project and those young idol and their parent see those debt as investment. which we can't see it kinda right thing to do, because investment didn't have to be making their child an option. there is a lot more place to make. but they did it, and sign it. so there is no legal problem, and we can't do anything. because it's the system in korea idol making process.

Yeonwoo getting anxiety was for them an opportunity to cut more costs to repay debts and such, and earn a buck on the side, but yeah. Think 2 were used, one was screwed over.

Mei Qi, Xuan Yi and Cheng Xiao are currently busy promoting in China. Mei Qi and Xuan Yi were initially removed by Starship and Yue Hua from Rocket Girls 101 due to contract disagreement with Tencent. After a while, both parties resolve their issues and both girls returned to Rocket Girls 101 full time until their contract ends. I'm not sure if the China line will return to WJSN as all 3 members are quite popular in their home turf compare to South Korea. They got more popularity and income along the way. I'm sure the China line wants to go back but Yue Hua is the one that can give a say on what they do so it's up to the agency. Starship only manage the group promotion and the members that are contracted under them.

These videos criticizing MLD Entertainment also do nothing to help Daisy’s contract dispute. If MLD gets a sympathetic judge in the case, they could rule that bad publicity hurt the company’s position. I know it sounds odd, but Korean law is pretty draconian compared to western standards. Daisy has had very little to say to her fans over the last year. I am familiar with two artists under King. Matenrou Opera is a band a like. They are small for their genre. They have been trying to move from visual kei (the genre they started out in) to metal for years now but King won't let them. One of their new bandmembers is half white, but Japan is a very narrowminded country. He tried sharing a family pic on twitter and King basically banned him from ever using twitter again. Another artist called momoko kanade, I think she's actually a voice actress or something, she wanted to try a singing career for a bit. She ended up in sone kinda argument of which the details were not made public with her management team at king and they have tried erasing any piece of proof her singing career existed from their end. I have desperarely tried purchasing her cds when I visited japan but she's just erased from the stores as well.

Daisy and Taeha were being abused by the company (in THAT way) and they were threatening to expose them, and the company kicked them out of the group before anything could be revealed.
