It's a falsehood that any buzz is good. But how much of a failure this is can't really be determined externally. If they paid a hefty additional amount to get on the actual team name wanting it to be acknowledged, it's not a good look. No one will refer to the team as such. It'll be called racing bulls in broadcasts. If they just wanted to be main sponsors and the inclusion in the name came with it, they're probably ok with it. There'll be this initial pip of interest and mentions. We'll all disregard the name, but their branding will be all over the car, paddock, merch, etc. I'm sure they paid a lot of money, I'm sure they might be a little disappointed in the reception, but I'm also sure that overall they're perfectly ok with this deal at the moment.

As far as I know, they used the most advanced AI and the biggest data bank in the world to get this name. A friend of mine who works at RedBull HQ in Eagle Den - Austria, said that this name makes the return of Nikita Mazepin possible - who would crash into Leclerc at the end of the 2024 season making it a Verstappen championship. Leclerc will be leading 24 points at the start of 2024 abu dabi based on the calculations of the aforementioned AI.

I think this was exactly the goal. Racing Bulls sounds just as lame as it was intended and RB gets mistaken for the Red Bull team, so they want people to call the cars Visas. All the talk about the name also brings more publicity for the sponsor. To be honest, even back in the 70's Lotus officially named its cars John Player Specials, not that it really caught on, but the use of title sponsors has always been a compromise between sponsor exposure and team identity. I guess it's very easy to accuse Red Bull, since the name has changed so often that the team hasn't been able to build a long-term identity.

To be fair, a lot of F1 teams have very stupid names (i.e. company names, that aren't a car manufacturer or engine supplier) like Cogniblablabla aston martin. We just ignore all that corporate BS. But sometimes TV graphics show the whole name and it's of biblical proportions. That leaves me with two conclusions: First: they will be known as Racing Bulls; Second: Racing Bulls on it's own is still a very stupid name.
