@Black Lung People praised CM Punk for not tapping to strikes and taking shots like a champ. Mike Jackson was criticized for not trying to end the fight. He had CM Punk on the ground and was giving in body shots as well as elbows and punches to the legs. He clearly wasn’t trying to end the fight and that just compromises the integrity of the sport. Sports are reliant on everyone involved trying their hardest and trying to win.

I kind of get it. He is very unusual in his gameplan. By going for an imanari role or dropping for leg entanglements or guard he avoids striking at close range and clinching almost completely and nobody is dumb enough to go to the ground with him. So if you want to see a fight with a lot of boxing, clinching or prolonged grappling exchanges you won't see them. That being said he is extremely good at what he does and so unusual i really enjoy his fights.

Basically, yeah you are one of the few. I get he was a popular wrestler, trained for years and yada yada yada. Saying that, it was a bit of a joke bringing in a guy whom NEVER had a fight before his debut and just using celebrity status for views. His post fight speech was pretty awful considering how cocky he was for years before the Micky Gull fight. He charged at him full force with no consideration and got beat up His second fight was so embarrassing Dana had a shit fit due to how bad it represented the company. It's a lose/lose situation.
