As a 7, I'll pretty much do whatever my guest wants to do, even if that's nothing....but if they really wanna get under my skin, they'll start giving unsolicited "advice" on how clean/organize my house or life or pointing out inadequacies around the house. So essentially a vocal 1.

Yes! I'm 9w1 too, and my heart stopped for a sec when she said "surprise!" I think brunch and shopping sound fun (not the spontaneous biking though haha), but it has to be PLANNED -- otherwise I'm definitely not up for it.

As a 9, I would actually like a guest like that because Im too lazy to plan anything myself... if I had a friend that came over and had the day planned, I would be like GREAT thanks for planning and forcing me out... lol. Just call first because I need to put on real pants and a bra.... and please don't do it ALL the time. My worst nightmare is probably an 8 that comes into my space to spout off their political opinions for an obscene amount of time. Nodding and smiling does get old after a while.

As a 9w8, the best approach in my opinion is to passionately argue my point followed by, “I dunno, I’m kinda dumb. You’re probably right. Grain of salt. Don’t change your opinion because of me.” Some call it “passive-aggressive” and “manipulative,” I call it “Advanced backtracking.” I dunno, that’s what works for me, but I’m not a smart person. Don’t feel like you have to do that, it’s whatever…

I enjoy surprises! But, I would be stressed about wearing something appropriate...it takes me awhile to pick out any non-legging outfit because I'll be overthinking it. But, I do love other people making plans for fun and making me go! I love doing things, but I always think it will be inconvenient the other people. My worst house guest is likely the extreme politics person or someone who doesn't leave without me having to have the uncomfortable "Well, I guess it's that time..." Oh, the conflict! 😆

This solidifies that I am a one. For sure. My mom will clean up when she visits, and I will totally let her. Then I'll find one dish out of place, or all the bowls in a different cabinet, or what have you, and I'll freak out. Anyone that mentions all the cleaning I need to do when, yes, I've noticed, I'll get around to it when I can with two under two. Or people's toe nail clippings. Or people leaving dishes haphazardly instead of stacking the bowls with the bowls in the sink, the plates on the plates, the utensils in the cups, the cups stacked if they can be stacked. Don't leave your used napkins on the table, put them on your plate when you've finished eating! The anger will be held in until the person leaves and/or overstays their welcome. And it's very passive aggressive anger, because I know it's not the best reason to get angry at someone about.

I’m a 1, and 1’s guests really made me shudder 😂😅. Spot on! I recently got super tense and stressed out when one of my house guests spent an evening in my new white couch with her feet up and heavily dragging them back and forth. During that whole night I tried to focus on the groups conversation while at the same time forcing myself from telling her to stop destroying my sofa!!!!!!! 🛋 I’m an ENFJ, so perhaps that affects me in the way that I find it very hard to tell guests that I have house rules (keep yourself and things clean, un-damaged and in order, please); I want first and foremost my guests to feel welcome, at ease and accepted - and keep our relationship free from friction (so I suffer in silence). And number 9 can send it’s guest to me! I want to have at least one friend that spontaneously (texts me first and then) show up and take me out on adventures! And if I’m having a “leave me alone day” I’ll just ignore opening the door, like number 5. What a well done and entertaining video. 👏😂

Oh my goodness. Do you have a camera in my house spying on me? Seriously, I identified with every word you wrote…even down to the couch. A few months ago we purchased a leather sofa. A friend came over, and with her boots still on her feet, sat cross legged on it. Like you, I tried to focus and be nice because I am not confrontational, but my head was screaming at her to put her feet on the floor 😱.

I am not in eneagram two but when my family or my former in laws came over and would clean my house it drove me bananas. As much as I appreciate them wanting to help no it's part of my copping mechanisms I need to clean and have my house organized the way I want it to be. Their help makes it worse.

I'm a 3w2. I am ALWAYS washing dishes at other people's house 🤣 Sorry my 2 friends. I didn't realize I was driving you nuts, I just can't stand dishes in my sink and want to help. Also, talking over me and negging on my experiences or my stuff (especially if it is new or I am proud of it) makes me insaaaaane. I'm watching and wondering what the worst houseguest for me could be, then you get to my number. As an 8 I can tell you I have had more than my share of those conversations. And you are right, folk bring up stuff from MONTHS ago, I don't know or remember what they are talking about and I have completely moved on. Free advice to other 8s out there: I have learned that when those convos happen, it isn't about me. The person really is not there for anything close to a conversation, they just want to be heard. More often than not, they really do not care about my side of things, don't care about my motivations or thoughts surrounding it. They just want me to see them and acknowledge their feelings. Indeed, any attempt to share my side of the situation will just be me being defensive, so the best course of action is to say, "Wow! Thank you for telling me this! I am so sorry I hurt you. I will remember this and try to do better in the future." And then - and this is important - stop talking. If you talk more, you will blow it.

Tip for having fun with 9s: Think of activities that can be done on their sofa This is prolly why my 9 brother is the one sibling who hasn't had a gf yet despite arguably being the most likeable/ having the best personality. I (presumed 5) have no social skills but I'm very direct. Our 6 sister may be a little argumentative but she has many contacts to set her up with ppl. Our bro meanwhile is so nice & patient & civilized & good with kids but he never leaves the house & he's too shy to use online dating as I did. We need to get a chill domestic girlfriend in the room with him once so they can be chill & domestic together

All of these were so bad. But when you hit 8 I died. Few things kill me more than people being late. My ex used to be late or cancel last minute all the time and it was infuriating.
