For anyone that might need a refresher, or someone brand new to firearms... THE FOUR RULES OF GUN SAFETY - #1: NEVER point a firearm at anything you aren't willing to kill/destroy. #2: ALWAYS treat any firearm as if it is loaded and ready to kill. The one time you ignore this rule, could be the last time someone is seen alive. #3: NEVER have your finger in the trigger well until you're ready to fire. And always pull your finger from the trigger well when you're done, so you don't accidentally discharge the weapon doing something dumb. #4: Know what is behind your intended target, as well as around it. You don't wanna shoot at a paper target that'll have the bullet pass right through and into a thin wood wall... And into someone's loved one

18:42 I would normally second Brandon's sentiment but RPGs have a maximum distance fuse. Once the motor is out of fuel and it's rotated a certain number of times and has reached a far enough distance, the warhead will autodetonate. I haven't seen anyone shoot an RPG vertical but I have seen people fire so that the RPG hits it's max distance above the ground, exploding and acting as a very effecting antipersonnel weapon. They would even pre-sight locations like artillery and use them like that. Not too effective but it works.

I teach firearms safety and training. If you think that just because you have military service, that means you know how to handle a gun? You're are so wrong lol. So many times I've expierenced the opposite. Law enforcement and military sometimes need more training, because they are taught safety so much that some of them become desensitized to it. I had an ex marine sniper, point his loaded gun right at me at a range one time. I had to shove his arm down and clear befoe he flagged more people. And the arrogant ass tried to defend himself to save face by saying he was "in the military", and that he knew what he was doing. He had been in the marine corp for 14 years. Training means nothing unless the person retains and practices it. Military training or otherwise, it doesn't matter.
@Locke99GS
@Locke99GS 2 жыл бұрын
"You have to have military service ... " lol I don't know what kind of super secret john wick special forces training you got in the Army, but I wanna say I only shot 1 or 2 thousand rounds during basic, and a few hundred per year otherwise. As a civilian I shoot 50-200 rounds _every week_ , and have taken more weapons training in the past year than than the entire time I was in the US Army. People think soldiers and cops are weapons experts somehow - they're not. They have the most basic of competency, and usually don't know anything about firearms except how to fire them well enough to qualify with them. Some state's CCW courses have higher marksmanship and safety standards than the military. Having military experience is *not* an indicator of firearms knowledge.
@Kez_DXX
@Kez_DXX 2 жыл бұрын
Some of our more famous soldiers were just regular folks that had to hunt as civilians to survive and then joined the military in time of war. Alvin York in WW1 and Audie Murphy in WW2. So they had a good amount of experience before ever going to basic training. And then there are the civilians in uniform- the police who far too often only go to the range a few times (if even that) a year just to make qualification. NYPD has a horrible reputation of shooting the wrong folks by accident and it's mostly because when they switched from revolvers to mag-fed auto pistols the trigger pull lessened. Adequate training on the new sidearms would have broken their habits but instead someone had the "brilliant" idea to put the pistol trigger weight up to about 12 lbs. I'm not sure if they ever fixed that terrible decision or not.
@JoshSweetvale
@JoshSweetvale 2 жыл бұрын
He's a Marine. From what I hear they get drilled for discipline to prevent an oops when blindsided.
@Locke99GS
@Locke99GS 2 жыл бұрын
@@JoshSweetvale I'm not sure if you know this, but Marines are not the only career that have mechanisms in place to help prevent critical oopsies. Additionally, all civilian firearms training focuses heavily on weapons safety fundamentals. Marine's don't receive as much actual live fire training with weapons as the public seems to think they do. In the military, breaking firearms safety rules usually results in you getting written up. In the civilian world, a single safety violation results in getting kicked out, and depending on the severity, banned. You accidentally discharge or break 180 at a civilian shooting competition and you're instantly disqualified from the event. Do the same at a civilian shooting range and you're instantly kicked out. Now if you've been in the military or watched military or law enforcement videos on KZbin, you'll notice the general lack of firearms safety in general, typically involving muzzling fellows or innocents, often with finger on the trigger. Military and Law Enforcement firearms training is very bad. If you have never been in the military, what you think about their ability to use firearms safely is probably misguided and wrong. An excellent example is the 10th Mountain's shoot-house video they released a few years ago showing them almost killing themselves repeatedly, but you can find this sort of firearms behavior from most military or law enforcement action cam footage. You people really need to stop imagining that militaries and leo's are all John Wick gun-fu ninja's. They mostly can barely shoot, and their qualification expectations are so low that they mostly could not pass most states civilian CCW shooting requirements.

Having someone there to immediately correct you and make you feel bad for fucking up is the greatest encouragement to do good with gun safety. First time ever shooting a gun I was like 9 in a pretty anti gun family with a pro gun grandfather. Ran down the core four rules both before the trip, on the way there, and before I even touched a gun. And I always had someone right over my shoulder watching everything I did. After that I didn't shoot again till I was 13 but I had that shit down. I don't think military training is required but I think it provides you with that same foundation which ingrained it in you. You have someone there watching your shit and they will yell at you if you fuck up. Whenever you teach someone to shoot you should always be shooting after a safety briefing, and over their doniminat shoulder while they shoot. That gives you full control of their direction and a clear veiw of their trigger finger, as well as a safe way to retrieve the weapon. Everyime their finger returns to the trigger post shooting immediately mention it. After one trip like that the next time the person doesn't seem to mess up, at least in my experience. The issue is you have a lot of people whose first interaction with a gun is on their own. Like there was a guy on tik tok firing his first gun, think it was a springfeild xd, maybe a glock, I don't remember, but every shot he racked it with a complete lack of understanding of how it worked. The only gun my dad ever owned before I got him into it all was one he got as a gift from my grandfather and rarely shot. A lot of people's first interaction is guns owned by friends who's first interaction was alone. I think the solution is similar to what they have in Canada where you have to take a class first and on your own demonstrate how to safely handle every action of firearm widely available, and then you get a card that allows you to not only purchase guns but get them in the mail (atleast that's how I understand it). Honestly I think you could sell Americans on that sorta thing as though it's more restrictive you get that extra freedom of ordering stuff to your house. That said there would probably have to be a provision on that like you must be there to sign for it for sure and scan card but yeah. Wouldn't help with people being stupid with street guns or passed down family ones but atleast it would help a lot of people. Idk

For a person who grew up in one of the more gun control regions in the country and then went through the Marine corps weapons training which is designed to traumatize, I can understand where his opinion comes from. Doesn't mean it's really great opinion but I can understand. Because the Marine corps is the sharp end of the stick they overemphasize weapons control and the danger of the weapons. It's what has permitted us to not have a massacre whenever protesters outside of the embassies happen for example. But it means that he honestly doesn't trust anyone with a firearm and watching a video like this does not help.

I can't agree about needing to have military service to own guns, as it is a right. I can say that my dad had firearms safety in P.E. class when he was in school. That has been demonized over the years. Now I learned from a veteran and a big time collector and have fired many historic and some specialized arms. I hit a target at 1500 yards constantly in Colorado and I got the honor of firing 20 rounds through a single mount 20mm cannon at an event. I think the NFA is unconstitutional and I am sorry for the Uber restrictions that are all over Illinois, especially Chicago. Pretty messed up how things are handled there. Brandon Herrera is a good guy, he really knows his AK rifles and makes some great quality rifles.

We should have firearm safety classes in schools but obviously that's a taboo subject now. Unfortunately law abiding gun owners are vilified now. If they want more safety we should teach them how to respect, properly handle and learn the 4 basic gun safety rules. Guns have been around for 100s of years they will be for hundreds more. Might as well have safety training so that Baldwins don't happen.

Just because you are military or police doesn’t make you competent with a firearm, TRAINING with your firearms makes you competent, and you don’t need military or police service for that. If you would leave Chicago, with all of the violent felons in gangs that, despite not being able to obtain a firearm legally, will steal them and use them on other gang’s members or innocent people, you might see that 99% of gun owners are extremely safe with their guns.

Yeah no. You don't need military service. I just had a southern dad. If you even pretended to do something even remotely undisciplined with so much as a BB gun, that was an ass whoopin'.

Maybe try calming down abit? Like these are called fails for a reasons. Military service or not you can understand gun safety and have good training if some of these people know common sense and know basics of not doing anything stupid. Brandon Herrera knows there's many issues and possibilities with these fails. Even military service and police department not all of em are gun experts as they claim to be. Check out "Savage Actual" both of em are military service men and talk about many guns and things, they even say that they aren't gun experts but they know enough and don't claim to know everything.

And while we're on the subject of those cute little black powder cannons, it's worth pointing out that you should never ever put modern smokeless powder in a gun designed to use black powder. Doesn't matter if it's an original or some Italian modern reproduction using much stronger and better quality metals. The pressure will be too great and your classy revolver will likely grenade in your hand.

So this is my first time checking out this channel and I'm torn. Not because of the reactors, they're amazing. I'm torn because I'd like to see them watch more Darwin awards and also check out Cursed Gun images and gun meme review, but I'm afraid the male might end up having either a stroke or burst an aneurysm from anger, lol.

The ONLY possible explanation I can come up with for that 'spin around' shooting drill is so they have at least a small taste of trying to do shoot while dealing with shock or a concussion... and even that sounds pretty iffy to me. I don't necessarily agree with requiring military service to use a gun (some people aren't eligible for military service), but certainly they need to have training.

According to the accent it's not Russia. In fact, it's impossible to get pistol license without being in law enforcement agency or being a professional competitive shooter. You get your smoothbore license and, after five years in good standings, can get your actual rifle. Accent and tone hints on Western Ukraine or Poland. She says "So what's the [incomprehensible]". But she says "what" as "Sho" as opposed to russian "Chto" or "Cho" In fact, it's less likely to be Ukraine (They would get something closer to "Scho") and more likely to be Poland.
