There was a case where 8 kids that were 13 years old hit a delivery guy (who was 18) with a car that they stole and killed him because they ran a red light. None of them got in actual trouble.

The real victim came forward and spoke about this on a Korean tv show. She said she's too scared to watch the glory. The woman is 31 years old now and the bullying happened to her in middle school. One of the Perpetrators is a nurse, one is a social worker. None of them got punished. The truth stayed hidden until her high school graduation. Even to this day she was shaking and crying while narrating her story.
@merykhan97 Жыл бұрын
The Drama is based on a true story with few modifications. Reading about it broke my heart. The actors talked about it on the Part one Netflix interview and the actual victim has her own interview aswell . it's scary to even imagine the state of Highschools in SK. Song Hye kyo brought justice to this role honestly. Such a phenomenal actress.

I was bullied like this at a private christian school. My grandparents paid my tuition. My mom was poor and on welfare. I was the only poor kid in the school. Of course they targeted me. I was the outcast. I still have scars as well. I loved this show because it helped me live out my own revenge fantasy. I wish I could have done this. Sadly real life doesn't work this way. All my bullies are married with kids and have successful careers and lives. Meanwhile I'm still broken and scarred. This is based on the story of a true victim. I hope this show being made gave her some comfort and peace. Also, the snow thing. I do this every winter. Snow is so white and pure and clean and sparkly at night. I love to take my shirt off and rub it on my scars. It makes me feel like I'm cleansing myself because I always feel so dark and dirty.

For half of South Korea’s history, it was a military state, and the public education system was controlled by the state. So violence in schools was prevalent with lots of instances of teachers, usually men, smacking or kicking students, including young girls. It still can happen today, but new laws in favor of the victims as well as the younger generations’ new outlook have helped to prevent this type of behavior.

The fact that bullying in the U.S. looks like a joke compared to the extreme basically attempted murder type of bullying in Korea. Bullying in Korea is all about connections and how rich you are so even if you try to tell someone or fight back you'll just end up making it worse for yourself. This is why when an idol gets a bullying allegation in Korea it's such a huge deal. This is also based on a true story at least the part were the victim was bullied and burned with a curling iron she had an interview where she talked about it and showed her scars and talked about how none of the teachers would help her.
@Hotcheetos777 Жыл бұрын
Say what? Most people in korea aren’t even high class/super rich. So most bullies don’t have “connections”. I’m korean and generally bullies are from just normal class. BUT I will say that the bullies that get away with it are probably the rich kids. However like I said, there aren’t that many. Also bullying in the states IS pretty bad, i mean, gun shootings? They aren’t even murder “type” bullying, it’s just plain murder tbh.
@Vvoa778 Жыл бұрын
I agree with everything you’re saying, except it’s mostly due to SK’s lack of juvenile justice system as opposed to money/ connections. Minors can commit nearly any crime and get only a slap on the wrist. Also no lol, idk what the comment above me is talking about but from someone who’s been to school in hella countries (military kid) the United States bullying is the LEAST offensive. Still vile to bully regardless of severity, but bffr.
@nalalala7584 Жыл бұрын
All bullying is bad and unacceptable
@Hotcheetos777 Жыл бұрын
@@Vvoa778 I agree, the entire law system is pretty fcked in korea. Minors get away with anything, same goes for criminals under the influence of alcohol (criminals that were drunk during murder gets less years in prison which is total bs). But like you, I went to international schools in different countries (mostly in asia + the US). I'd say generally all countries are the same. There's always bound to be those 'severe cases' in any country, like the Junko case in Japan. But tbh the majority of korean students don't got time to bully, they're literally studying till 3-4am. I dunno man, people like to think that all bullying cases in korea are severe after watching the Glory and Weak Hero Class. Physical type of bullying was probably more severe during my dad's school days back in the 70-80s, that's when teachers hitting students was actually considered acceptable and were allowed by their own parents in the name of discipline. (getting slapped was pretty common according to my dad). But I mean, there are so many people that say american bullying is pretty violent, and that probably results in gun shootings as well. The least offensive? Idk. It's literally life or death there
@lov3p4in80 Жыл бұрын

I saw a lot of comments comparing it to other K drama My name, but they said the Glory is another level. The thing about this drama is that it keeps you engage so much and every scene and lines, even the subtle lines are important. Her revenge is intricate and calculated, so as the drama and the story is well written.

This show was beautiful and the ending is so satisfying. I promise you will clap 👏 by the end I cried with her, and I felt all her pain... Sadly bullying like this is common even today in Korea because money talks, so if you have money to settle and pay people there can be no consequences(legally) so if this happens and the bullies parents pay off the victims parents the victim and the parents can't then go file charges... SA cases are the same way...
